@Meat wow! 14 sounds like a massive turnout for such an early hour. It's great that everyone has a partner to work with too. It's awesome that you're part of such a dedicated group.
I used to coach and swim with masters (fancy name for adults) around the same hour. Met some of my closest friends that way. 10 felt Massive and most of the time we were lucky to have 6 or 7 regulars. Early risers are a different breed.

Today is leg day, but I think it's going to be a later day workout. I've had things to do throughout the day. Mowed the property and inconvenienced a family of pigs with my presence. They really love my soil pile.

I didn't go turkey hunting this year because the holidays snuck up on me, but it's okay becaue I know where to find the wild turkeys... On another note, I was wondering why I wasn't hearing my neighbor's turkeys this week. That was a mystery easily solved!

How is tomorrow already Thanksgiving? I hope you will all have a wonderful day!

Today was a rest day, but I treated myself to 2 hours of hula hooping. It's been 5 years since I've seen my parents and celebrated a traditional Thanksgiving. I've enjoyed relaxing non conventional holidays the whole time that I've lived in Hawaii.
This is the first place that I've lived where they do regular DUI roadblocks. We stayed in, but still got a nice long walk by the ocean.
Today is going to be an upper body push workout with planks and push ups. That honestly doesn't sound like much fun, but I'll still do it!

    How are you moving today?

P.S. I started writing this post yesterday. That's why it says today twice.

This morning I did 40 minutes of handstand training. It's honestly the hardest for me to motivate myself to do because it's the hardest for me to do. You can't really wing it with inversions. It takes time and consistent practice to build the scaffolding strength and flexibility in the wrists, shoulders, and spine and then putting it all together and balancing takes more practice. I have no background in gymnastics, dance, or yoga so I have been learning these skills from scratch.

After that I hooped for 1.5 hours. Currently making a Cornish hen pepper soup. This evening I have a leg and core workout to do!

Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend. My newest herb and flower garden is loving all of this rain!

I did my run, easy as pie. I’m getting close to one year doing my short run, probably 3 to 4 times a week.

I love a good rest day! Today's chicken soup wasn't half as good as yesterday's cornish hen soup. I never thought I'd say that I miss butchering quails. Excellent meat! These cooler temperatures are making me want to spend more time outside, but I can't even look outside without seeing a wild boar or some pigs. *trapping in progress*

Aloha! I took a full rest day yesterday and it was really nice. I set up my laptop and started looking at my blog once again. It's been awhile and the latest power outage caused me to lose 3 of my latest articles (I was bummed and felt a little discouraged by this.) I set up a pinterest page for my new domain and don't even know where to start. LOL. It's been a long time since I've done this, but I'm looking forward to working on it and learning more.

    Last week I read:
    • Counting the Cost by Jill Duggar I enjoyed her memoir even though I never watched the show (19 Kids and counting.) I feel sad that she had to go through some of these things, but I'm glad that she decided to strike out on her own and live life more on her own terms.
    • The Trackers by Charles Frazier I gave this book a 5/5 rating. It is so well written. Mystery, Historical Fiction, and Western all in one!
    • Maame by Jessica George This is a contemporary literary fiction / coming of age novel about a young woman (with parents from Ghana) who is the caretaker for her father who has advanced stage Parkinson's. My Grandpa had Parkinson's and I was very close to him. It felt like one of my greatest losses when he passed. I really enjoyed this book and think it covered a lot of issues that young adults face. She was a virgin at the beginning of the book and wasn't by the end of it.
    I'm currently reading:
    • Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI by David Grann This is a true crime historical non fiction book that is set in 1920's Oklahoma. It is riveting and devastating with the Osage tribe went through.
    • Nobody Wants Your Sh*t: The Art of Decluttering before You Die by Messie Condo. I needed something to ignite a fire under my a$$ and continue my decluttering and purging to prepare for a new chapter in my life. I hope that I still have many more years on this good earth. The author refers to the Swedish Art of Death Cleaning which is a very interesting concept. I might actually part with my pink miniature toaster oven and rice cooker!
    • Forever Strong: A New, Science-Based Strategy for Aging Well by Dr. Lyon I'm still slowly reading through this one.
My current book count is now 87 / 100.

Today's workout is going to be a total body workout!

How are you moving today? Hope you will have a wonderful week!

Have you read the Marie Kondo book about de-cluttering? Messie Condo seems like a play on her famous name.

Yes, I've read a few of her books and they helped me to let things go. I'm a very sentimental person who loves looking back and reminiscing. Even when I was a renter back in my early 20's my prized possession was this full sized book shelf full of books and journals. There was one year that I moved 4 times in one year and hauled all of those books and that big honking shelf with me. It became heavy... Our 1st house was 4 bed 3 bath and I filled at least 2 of the closets with clothes.
2017 was a turning point and when I read Kondo's "Life changing Magic of Tidying Up" it helped me shift my entire paradigm around possessions. It's very freeing to live with less. I think you're right. Messie Condo must be a pen name that is a play on the other author.

I survived the first 24 hours without sugar and it wasn't as rough as I thought it would be! I can tell that it's going to be a mental game probably more than anything because that sweet and salty combo feels like an addiction. I felt strong during yesterday's total body workout and even increased my weight for several of the exercises. I settled on the strength training working and a 2.5 mile walk. After that I was too tired to do anything else.

Today is going to be an upper body and core workout that will happen in the evening. Meanwhile, I'm going to start working on a new blog article.

    Happy December!
Yesterday was a much needed rest day and today I will do an upper body and core workout. I learned a new snaring design from our neighbor (who is a local pro) and it's working really well!

If I can read 10 more books this month, then I will reach my goal of reading 100 books for the year! I think I want to start writing more reviews on Goodreads.

I also picked up my blog and started cleaning up my articles and links. It feels good to be back on track with everything.

What are your goals for this month of December?

Boring but, I’m sticking and staying. Lol. April will be my next tournament and the boy will be participating most likely too. I remember when he cried during wrestling matches, now he’s making grown men cry. (Mostly tapping them out) I’m so glad we get to train together, he probably owes me a few lumps.

@Meat It's great that you guys already have a goal set for April! I had an old neighbor who practiced BJJ since 2014 and is a blue belt. You really must be on a fast track since you haven't been practicing nearly as long and you already have your Blue belt.

Today was just one of those days... I bought a refurbished washing machine for my other house locally a few months ago. The first machine was broken and it turns out that the replacement has issues too. It seemed okay, but I think it drained my whole water supply so now I need to get a $300 water delivery (it used to cost around $100 when I first moved here, but inflation...) I couldn't find any cracks in my pipes or gutter system so I'm hoping that's the culprit, but there's also a chance that the pigs might have damaged a pipe behind the house. I'll have to do some bushwhacking tomorrow to find out. Delivery should be here soon and then I'll be able to get down to the bottom of this...

Just had a 4.9 earthquake in Volcano thankfully things seem okay, but we're ready to go just in case.

I did manage to do a total body hiit workout today! It feels good to move a little quicker after doing hypertrophy training for the last 2 months!

Mortgage and bills are paid and didn't get rear ended by the high speed police chase on our road... I guess they never got him and he's armed and still at large...

    Never a dull moment!

Today has been much better than yesterday! My water supply seems to be holding so I'm thankful that it's not an issue with the plumbing or my catchment liner. I think it must be the faulty washing machine. I have a replacement pressure switch and should just fix it.
I did an intense leg workout with lots of front squats (probably my least favorite variation because they are so challenging for me.) Hooping teacher is doing a fun Advent calender daily hula hoop move so I've been recording each day.
I just finished a fun live (but online) dance class. I'm so glad it's not on zoom. I don't like zoom calls. Lol. I think I want to learn a drum solo choreography before the end of the year as a Christmas gift to myself.
Hope you are all having a wonderful week!
