Anyone notice there seems to be a battery shortage
    AA, D's C's etc.
Seems there's a new ''super meth'' being made with the lithium.

They were hard to come by when I was looking for Lithium Energizers for deer cams, and pricey, too!
I think I have more money tied up in batteries than cameras, lol.

I'm trying to go with a 12v solar panel and rechargeable batteries on the camera
I have a 6 volt panel on the feeder with rechargeable batteries

Never heard of a 6 volt panel Sir.
On the back of most panels their sticker lists all the panel info. Then I decide how im going to wire it for the power I require .

Well shoot! That would probably be able to run my camera for a bit!
How much for four of them?

I'd gander a guess and say the meth makers aren't buying batteries. More likely stealing them or maybe buying the generic brand out of desperation. More and more people are moving into their cars and vans these days because food and utilities as well as rent are all going up. Portable power stations and batteries in general are in high demand.

Yep, price is up for quality and new higher voltage battery tools with a higher storage capacity take a lot more lithium per battery. 60 and 120 volt tools, chainsaws, miter saws, etc, are becoming ever more common'

Local garage uses battery tools for impact wrench, angle grinder, light, sawsal, drills, etc. No hoses or cords in the way. Standardized on one size battery and may have a dozen of them.

    Any one done this?
I picked up some solar panels that are 47 volt and 38.9 volts and I am on a 12 volt system. my 12 volt charge controllers can handle only 25 volts, for charging a 12 volt system.
Driving too high a voltage against the charge controllers can burn them, so I thought that I might be able to block part of the panels to allow only 25 volts or so, thus protecting the controllers.

Invest a few bucks in better charge controllers, unless you're just running a couple of lights.
Partially shading the panels isn't an answer.

    Zimmy Wait, I'm not ready!

A better controller would be best. Otherwise, you can pull the extras as spares or put a disconnect on the extras you can enable/disable and as needed.

I don't know if solar is like wind but you may need a load dump for power generated. I buried a welders pipe heating element in sand for my wind turbines.
