Agreed....now if the new member were to discuss the merits of Remington gunz over Colt or Savage gunz there may perhaps be a little more interest.....;)

A general discussion of the merits of e-bikes as a prepper / survival / bug out contingency form of transport would be interesting, and in my view may have some merit, but copy and paste marketing blurbs of particular e-bike products...perhaps less so, unless in response to particular questions from the regular membership.

Yeah, I was just thinking here how great it would be to have more things integrated with a smartphone. FFS, if you don’t know where you’re going within a bike ride of your house, stay home.

We'll read about someone someday being found frozen in a snowbank on an electric scooter...and we'll laugh our asses off!

A foldable e-bike transportable on an RV or SUV? If one is a grey nomad, GPS connectivity can be useful; not all travels are within pedaling distance of home. Of course a good old analogue road map / street directory would be handy in the event of a grid down EMP situation if out of town.

Although riding an e-bike in snow conditions may not be optimal, it is under certain circumstances still doable (caveats and conditions apply). In one sense it is little different from hiking in snow / ice conditions....prudent preparations (clothing / food / shelter etc) may save one from becoming a permanent pedaling popsicle.

I have both front and rear motored wheels (separate controls and batteries) and love it especially going through soft dirt and sand, where the front wheel really shines.
Personally I stay out of wet weather with my E bike it's just not necessary.
I would have loved to have this bike when I was working as a commuter 5 miles there 5 miles back. But then I had a 650 Yamaha I rode every day rain or shine 100 degree heat or freezing weather.
The motor cycle is still a better vehicle in that the gas engine has far greater capabilities for distance and speed and handling wind and freeway traffic.
As for dealing with snow I was never foolish enough to ride in snow on either bike. It's just not necessary.
