I would only note that more than one nuke monitoring agency has the IDF with 'at least' 50 nukes. They don't mention the size or if they are boosted, but they have had the tech for decades and likely the devices as well.

Had Saddam H dropped nerve gas on Tel Aviv with his scuds, the IDF was primed to eradicate Baghdad via nukes. They make no bones about this.

The only thing that will keep us out of this is for Israel to go in and finish it. It looks like the plan now is to stall until Hamas/Iran runs out of patience and escalates again though. By then we will have enough assets in the area to make war with Iran on Israels "behalf". The whole thing now is starting to stink like 3 day old fish.

I don't think that FDR knew that Japan was going to attack Pearl Harbor. I do believe that he thought that Japan was going to attack the Philippines and Guam first. Also, the USA was planning for a future war with Japan when we move the Pacific Fleet from West Coast ports to Pearl Harbor about 10 years before. If the Fleet had remained on the West Coast Japan would have never attacked it!

I got to disagree with this in some regard, not completely. From Japan's perspective, it would make no sense to attack Guam and the Philippines prior to ensuring the USN Pacific couldn't tear up their supply lines to keep them, so all those battleships had to go first...and if Japan knew this then American knew it but we simply didn't think they would do it. Through arrogance and ignorance, FDR basically misread Japan provoking them when he not only embargoed their oil and steel but got other nations to do so as well. FDR is on record of stating "I may have started a war..." after imposing the embargo. This left Japan high and dry, unable to fuel their war machine which was heavily engage in China leaving them only two options - lose face and tuck tail and leave China or take oil rich Dutch East Indies to ensure adequate natural resources...but first, the USN had to be crippled, and crippled so badly, that America would leave the political arena. This is where Japan, through their arrogance and ignorance, misread and provoke America into war though their attack. Diplomatic failure from both countries? I think so and sadly this happens all the time even today. Japan's rapid rise in the Pacific threaten American interests there and geopolitically there can only be one Alpha dog in any region, so America did see war with Japan in the future was very possible so the fleet being moved to Pearl Harbor permanently simply made good sense while sending a subtle warning to Japan.

Yeah, when they started throwing out the 'beheading babies' stuff I said to myself, "Whoa! Let's be careful here." It seems every damn war uses this line starting with 'the Germans are bayoneting Belgium babies' in WW1. However, I do not believe Israel knew of the attack was coming but I have yet seen anything that proves what was said about the babies. I am sure rape and murder, the bread and butter of terror organizations, were use plus beheading of adults and that is enough reason to kill them and anyone that supports Hamas. Furthermore, let's not forget, Hamas was ELECTED in 2009 by the Palestinian people to govern them. The Palestinian people support Hamas so in my eyes, they are accomplice and complacent in this attack and deserve what they get...

 

Tempstar, I've been thinking about this all day and decided to comment. I think are carriers are there for one reason and that is to ensure Iran does not enter the war against Israel. It's a warning, a red line. Should Iran do so then America will go to war. Why? Israel cannot fight and win against Hamas, Hezbollah and Iran at the same time. They will lose and lose bad and fail to exist. And, if the Israeli launches a nuke, then expect Iran to do so also or, if Iran doesn't have a nuke yet, which I have my doubts, then Israel loses anyway because world opinion will tear them apart for using a nuke. So, it is imperative Iran stays out of the war or...this can get real ugly, especially considering Putin would love to give Iran weapons to kill Americans in retaliation for Ukraine. I think we will be damn lucky if we can stay out of it but frankly, I don't think there is a chance in hell of that happening.

IMHO, I think the Israelis are waiting to see if they can get any more hostages out before they invade because they are dead as soon as the invasion starts. Plus, I believe they are using the time to get more intelligence on what's within Gaza awaiting them. Let's face it, this is an ambush. Hamas knew how Israel would react after what they did, and they have been preparing for a long, long time so a few more days or even a week doesn't matter. Hamas intent is to hurt the Israelis and they will. Israel will win but they are going to get bloody. This is a well thought out, well supplied and well implemented plan which has all the marks of professionalism - meaning - Iran.
