i've got an old Jonsered, a couple of Husqvarnas and an Echo. The Jonsered and Husky are more cc's with 24-20 inch bars .. don't see much action unless i'm getting big trees out of the farmers field. the 18" Echo probably has had more bar oil and fuel thru it than the others combined. Also way easier to start .. I think the Jonsered hates me as it needs a shot of ether to get going but once warm .. she's a screamer and also has full chisel non-safety chain also .. no anti kick back brake, so it's usually used for milling. but it's been awhile.

Like I said a lot of us like it. 92+ Octane and burns just fine also a very long shelf life in storage. Expensive Yep. I run 50:1 or 40:1 based on what the Saw manufacturer recommends. Husqvarna Recommends 50:1
    trufuel reviews.

Most every review site has the same opinion.

TruFuel Reviews - Ready to Use, Pre-Mixed Ethanol-Free Fuel

3 of the 5 local logging outfits only run Trufuel in their saws. 4 of the 5 run only Husqvarna Saws.

I always forget the newest Husqvarna in my collection the 395XP with a 36" bar. I got it awhile back to run with the Alaka Mill to slab bigger logs down to fit on a 30" sawmill. And to cut up the occasional 50"+ diameter tree that falls in the woods. That saw should have a sign on it that says "I Brake For NO ONE!" 94cc engine that I have not gotten to bog down the few times I have used it. Just pure raw power, and whole different ball game and level than the 455/460/465s. I have 18" Bar and chains for it that I expect would be a total cutting beast, that 18 pounds of saw though would get real heavy pretty quick. All total I have way too many chainsaws all in good working order cough 17 now + my 4 in the picture if you count the invisible 455 :) A pair of Stihl 391s that have done nothing but totally piss me off since I bought them. After 3 Months of trying to love them and them spending more time in the shop than in my possession they sit on a shelf taking up space.

The Husqvarna X Cut Chains are easy to get and fairly reasonably priced at a couple amazon sellers. Can also buy the chain in bulk and build your own for even less. I use Ripper Chains on the saws for the alaska mill, skip tooth chains for cutting fire wood, full chisel for felling and logging, and semi chisel carbide tipped on the smaller saws for limbing and muddy or really dirty logs. Chain is a tool and the right tool for the job makes life easier :)

My goto saws for regular work are the 120/455/460/465 Very little difference in performance between the 400s other than the 455 does not like the 24" bars can run them but likes the 20" bar a lot more. The 465 was discontinued in 2014 I believe. So you are not going to find one unless it is used. The 465 and 460 are almost identical in every way other than the 460 having a hair less HP. The one I use is the last model before it was discontinued and they had just changed it to the screw on top instead of the clip on top. So it even looked like the 460 TBH the 460 is the better saw between the 2 and is most likely why the 465 was discontinued. The 120 is useful junk its redeeming quality is its weight and low price. I am honestly shocked that it still runs strong and generally works good 6 years later.

Where the Stihl 391s were better than the Husqvarna's was in fuel use, they used about 1/3 less fuel and Pretty much everyone I know agree that the Husq's are fuel hogs...... even all tweaked up.

The epa mandates for them to say the saw takes 40:1 or 50:1. If the saw manufacturers could build a saw with no epa input they would crank out an engine and carb combo that would run around 32:1 makes great power and lasts longer than the rest of the saw a few times over.
I'm running 40:1 as I can't argue with the small echo starting on the first pull and the big echo usually popping on the first pull. And run about 32:1 in the weed eater as it's just gets held wide open.

I guess the more correct way to say I is Hooskvarna. Lol.
DeWalt zero turn mower catches fire, cant be put out so they bury it.
Husqvarna has shitty parts availability, gouges prices and closes us plants.

Yes until they do something else stupid, cringe worthy or the next time I work on that semi functional free Hooskvarna.
Which those plastic on steel spacer pullys were no doubt designed to last 1 maybe 2 seasons or 2 weeks of commercial use, just long enough for the warranty to expire.
I have a Honda from like the 1990s looks like it's been used commercially, the engine is trashed but the self drive system appears to still be functional.

    CaboWabo5150 Hell's coming with me

Okay.. I'm gonna start some shid.. lol.. My workhorse saw is a Husqvarna, but being that I don't use it very often these days and I like to keep a saw in my truck, this is the latest saw I bought.. https://www.harborfreight.com/lawn-...-cordless-18-in-chainsaw-tool-only-56937.html

I keep it in the truck mostly for the morning rides to work if in case I need to move something out of the road. Happens a few times a year. Anyway, the thing has about the same amount of torque that my Husqvarna has and it's nice and quiet. As far as battery life goes, it's not super long, but I find that it runs out of juice about the same time that I do, so...

Ok, finally a topic I know just a tiny bit about lol. As a 3rd generation logger, Ive ran pretty much everything made in the last 50 years. Up until just a couple years ago, my go to saws were ALWAYS Husqvarna. Those tiny saws yall have been talking about are ok for farm/ranch use but too small to use professionally in the hardwoods. 65s, 77s, 372s, 575s, 576s, 390s, 2100s etc.... Ive ran them all in the Husky line. In the Stihl line pretty much the same, 056s, 440s, 460s, 461s, etc..... Up until a couple years ago Ive aklways said if Stihl could ever make a saw that pound for pound would outcut a husky, I would buy them. Well THEY HAVE! The 500i will outcut ALL of the saws Ive listed and it does it with less weight!

Drain fuel and Im thinking this year , flush out with white gas and oil mix !
Anyone try that ? I need to drain , service / clean /sharpen and get ready for 2024 year of cutting.

I run canned mix in my 2 cycle stuff, drain the tank and run out whats in the carb. Expensive but worth it and my stuff starts right up in the spring. Haven't had carb issues in the 8 years I have been doing this. I also run leaded gas for the last tank of the season in the mowers, run them empty and no problems.

I have a few cans of 50:1 mixed gas. Expensive up here. I use 94 to 110 aircraft fuel and i go thru this year 10 USG , two years ago with all the AK mills going 5USG/week ez.
Maybe next year I'll dry out a few saws with the oldest can. This year just Naphtha / white no oil,,squirt in cyl and pump the fuel thru carb MT and pull cord 5 times to bleed out , re-oil cyl, new plug , and service . Ready for next year.. Got 4 done today , a few more gas then on to the corded ones. Snow due next week , so then it's time to service the woodmizers ..
    Thanks @Tempstar
