@kckndrgn I'm sorry that it was a challenging summer for you. That really sucks! I think a lot of us here were more than ready for this summer to end. I'm glad that the autumn season has started. Pain and discomfort can cause big setbacks and it's discouraging.
It sounds like you have made a lot of great strides in getting back on track! I'm so happy to see you here again! A 24 hour fast is a huge accomplishment and your alternative to pizza night sounds so good! I'm thinking of reading Dr. Jason Fung's "Life in the Fasting Lane" next. My doctor recommended the "Obesity Code" and it helped me get started.
A saying that has really helped me a lot lately is:

    "The workout IS the reward."

Especially on those days when I feel unmotivated or like I'm not doing very well I try to congratulate myself for showing up because the workout is the reward.

I think it's even more admirable to undergo the kind of setback that you have and to still come back and not give up on your goals! You're amazing and you got this!

    @Alanaana, thank you.
My quads are so sore today LOL. Monday after my walk I did squats (with a 20lb kettle ball) , push-ups, dips and burpees. 3 sets until failure.
    Then my run yesterday
I repeated monday today, walk and the same exercises. My quads really did not want to do the squats and burpees but I pushed through it.
What amazes me, is that my blood sugar is elevated, even with my total carb intake less than 20g per day. I have the occasional dip into the 90's and during my run it spiked to 175 (and I was fasting during the run). In the spring it was unusual for my blood sugar to be above 100 during the day (usually just the morning spike).

This morning I did 50 minutes of yoga focused on spine mobility. I'm trying to practice yoga everyday and it honestly still feels like a chore to get going... I motivate myself with the pumpkin shortbread candle that I only light while I practice yoga. Whatever it takes, right? ;)

Today is upper body day and I have successfully put it off to the very last minute. All of my caffeine energy wore off hours ago, but I'll do it in a few. Wish me luck!

Another cup of coffee can't hurt? Lol...

I didn't feel like it, but I got it done and feel much better than I did going in. I really appreciate how positive Sydney is as a trainer and I love that her workouts are free!

@kckndrgn that is such a solid workout routine! Great job! That is interesting that your blood sugar gets elevated at 20 grams of carbs. Hopefully it will start to get to a better range. My doctor said that it can take a little while for these changes to take affect. Keep going! Yesterday I really struggled with motivation, but it felt good to finally get it done. I'm sore today and am glad that it's rest day. I plan on practicing yoga once the coffee kicks in.

I'm feeling very strong, but also tired. I'm glad that today is a rest day. I did 30 minutes of full body mobility yoga this morning.

I'm thinking of learning how to create animated videos. I haven't done video editing before so this will be a fun skill to learn. This means sitting at a desk more so I'll have to make sure that I'm staying active.

Do any of you have experience with video editing? What software do you recommend for PC. I have Canva pro, but don't know much about the video editing capabilities yet. Also thinking of trying skillshare. I'll keep you updated!

My report remains the same pretty much. I missed one class due to an outage at work. Running and lifting with a few misc things mixed in.

Today was a total body workout! I'm starting to look forward to my workouts. This morning I did wrist free yoga. I think my back pain is slowly fading away!

Today is a total body history workout. Since it is the final day of September, I have been reflecting and re evaluating my goals. I'm happy with the progress I'm making and want to keep going!

I have pretty much abandoned my handstand training and would like to pick it up again. There is a program that I would like to work through that has 8 classes and I've only managed to do 4 of them. I'm supposed to spend a week on each class, but it's very intense so I haven't stuck with it. I'm going to start with class #3 this afternoon and stick with it this time. At the very least I want to go through all of the classes so that I can become familiar with the drills and build up the strength.

There's probably a reason why I've been avoiding it and it's time for me to face this challenge!

    What challenges are you facing?

    Happy October!

September was a really great month for me full of lots of breakthroughs. How was your September?

    Last week I read:

    • This book is so good and I highly recommend it. I was crying by the end of it. I appreciate the depth of his characters and how we went back to the beginning at the very end to tie it all together. 20230926_105505.
    • 20230926_105505. im reading some shorter Kindle unlimited books so that i can catch up with my reading goal. I enjoyed reading this one. I used to be a Classically trained opera singer and Italian is my favorite language to sing in. I enjoyed learning about their mindset behind slow living and meals. Sometimes I feel tempted to switch to Mediterranean, but I'm getting good results with keto so I better stick with this. 20231001_123257.
I always enjoy the start of a new month and this month is no exception. This morning I practiced yoga -45 minutes of spinal waves with variations. Today is a full body workout. It looks like it's going to be an evening workout because I still need to eat lunch.

P.S. I don't know why the 1st picture showed up twice.

Today's workout is going to be a 40 minute arms and abs burnout workout. I just started a new program called "Reps" it is going to focus on Strength and Hypertrophy training. I'm looking forward to a slower, more deliberate pace.

I created a new logo for my blog and have set a goal to publish at least 2 articles per week. This one is my latest and I enjoyed using "Lord of the Flies" as a literary example since I recently read it.

-35 lbs from where I was a year ago. I didn't start cleaning up my act until mid February of this year. It feels good to make this kind of progress!
Yesterday was an upper body workout and today will be lower body. I started IF again this week and it's a little rough in the morning, but I have a lot of energy once I get hydrated and over the initial hump.
Hope you are all doing well!

Yesterday was upper body and core. Today will be lower body and core. Daily yoga feels good, but some days are easier than others.

I'm having fun with cooking meals at home. This week I made several kinds of green curry: tofu, ribeye, and today will be pork. I also made cauliflower mac and cheese. My favorite version has bacon, jalapeños, green hatch Chili's, hawaiian chili's, and a habanero. Spicy in the best way!

This morning I finally started my handstand training again and it's challenging, but so good for me! I can feel the difference now that my frame is carrying less weight.
I'm hitting my blog writing hard and it feels good to be back on track! Today's workout is going to be total body and I'm going to start in a few minutes.
How are you moving today? I hope you will have a wonderful week!
