After years of using emaille dinnerbords and cups ( long before we started bush living ) they must be replaced beceaus of abrasion. We looked all over but emaille is here hard to find . Now we buy 6 months a go stainless steel dog bowls from the pet store to replace our emaille dinnerbords and cups. It works as good as using emaille and after some practice we eat now out of them without using forks, knives and spoons. I'm doubtful that Coyotes eat from bowls...stainless steel or otherwise. They tend to eat the flesh of their prey straight off the carcass....raw. It would seem to be self defeating from an authenticity point of view if one averrs to eating with cuttlery from dog bowls, but uses kitchen utensils, pots and pans to prepare the comestibles that go into those same dog bowls? That said, plenty of humans eat edible goop straight from the bowl (often enough from communal bowls) with their fingers...so I don't think 'humans' have much reason for judging the variations in eating etiquette of others...just wryly imagining the image of it....would fur table napkins be required? Of course napkin rings could be fashioned from the bones of previous meals that hadn't been gnawed too much.
I've noticed on the larger ones it's harder to get my tongue to the bottom of the dish. Pro tip, stick with the small or medium size bowls.
Today I am identifying as a Possum......... The urge to eat trash and get ran over on the highway is strong!
Because we want to get out of that organised and learned human structure we want so far it could be back to the basics we want te become more animal again.
We use only the medium and small ones medium to eat out and smaal to drink out. We've try'd the lager ones but they are hard to clean up with our tongue.
I noticed the cat dishes I have, though they look to be 'stainless' will not hold a magnet. They're made by DuraPet and have a similar rubber base. In any case I just bought 4 10" ss dinner plates, and some camp cookware off selfrelianceoutfitters. 4 ss bowls, 4 ss plates, a single 25oz ss cup, & their 10" ss skillet. It's actually hard to find dishes that are metal and the baked enamel kind are truly junk. Almost ready to go camping. Best thing about the bowls op bought you don't need hands and it's kinda fun nosing around with your dogs for tidbits.
