Been early 2016 since I have done any serious torch cutting...... and showed on my first cut of the day!

I am finally getting around to cutting up the old mobile home frame that I hid in the woods :) I was very good at torch cutting and will be again with a little practice on this frame. But man that first cut is just horrible! Gas pressures were all wrong and well its not like my cut drifted or anything LOL

The lesson here is that when a skill is not regularly used it declines. Whether it be Marksmanship, making fire without matches or a lighter, cooking, anything and everything. Use it or Lose it is not just a saying. Almost to ashamed of this crooked slagfest to post the pics but it is too good of an example of a skill that declined due to lack of application. The good thing is that it just junk getting cut down to fit on a trailer to take it to the scrap yard! If it was a good I beam for a project I would have ruined it. But this is why we should practice skills and keep at least semi competent.

I noticed this also recently as simply didn't go and shoot at my local range as ammo cost got so expensive. I went recently and got a big damn surprise...and it wasn't a nice one. Price of ammo still will limit my practice time, but I am going to have to get more range time, maybe not as much as I'm use to or want, but enough to keep my skills current.

I cut the practice ammo to the cheap bulk .22lrs I had bought a lot of. It was just to painful to push a .300WM or 7.62 out of a barrel. 5.56 not as painful but still not cheap. LOL can't remember what brand the really cheap bucket of gold .22s were either rems or winchester but OMG they were horrible about every 6th one was a dud. Pulled a couple of them apart and they had no powder in the LOL.

Remington Golden Turds. Worst .22LR ammo on the market. I like CCI and Winchester best, Federals next.

CCI is what I use in .22LR and .22Mag for anything serious. I buy the bulk brick oe bucket of LR when I see them cheap and don't have high expectations from them. But the Gold ones stand out in the memory for just how awful they were.
