I see the guy as another Trump - a rich outsider taking a shot at DC. Without a large organization, the entrenched Bureaucrats will eat him alive.
A Populist at best, a sham at worst.

As far as taking the grant money - reminds me of the punch line about a barber and free haircuts....

 

In this day and age. No person running for office can withstand the scrutiny of their past. Everything is digitized, indexed, and available to be searched. And if nothing can be found ... it can be made up, made to look real with supporting 'evidence'.

Deep fakes, AI voice ... Yeah, it's not real anymore. Everyone can be owned.

 

I read stuff about this guy being a big pharma type. A problem is that anyone running for office should be disqualified for actually wanting the job.

 

IMHO... the only "Friend to the 2A, is US", and this doesn't end with an intact republic.
It ends in civil war and/or balkanization.
