Looks like a job for... a raincoat...

But, we are talking California. Newsom supporter types will take shelter for a week and then get therapy for a year. The few remaining Republicans will simply clean up their yards, brush the palm fronds from their cars and get on with life.

 

There may be an amazing opportunity to go food foraging in the desert after all the rain.

Not always available, but certainly sure to be a great expansion of knowledge for our desert foragers.

 

Outstanding point! Plus some reservoirs will get additional needed water.

They are handing out free sandbags in Las Vegas.

 

Everything in California is an overblown distraction!

 

Most people have no idea just how much work it is to fill even a dozen sandbags and a dozen sandbags doesn't go very far. Besides, you need a vehicle capable of hauling enough sandbags to count. We had a liquor store near the river that flooded several times over about 25 years, and we found that the best thing was NOT to try keeping the water out, but to concentrate on saving the merchandise and equipment, cleaning up afterward, and re-opening as soon as possible. We actually got pretty good at it!

 

Hopefully that storm won't dump all its water on commifornia and head up to Washington St and dump some water on the fires they've got up there .

My sister evacuated from Kelowna yesterday.

 

This area floods every year. Some year it floods very badly. We tend to use hesco barriers around here now instead of regular sand bags for large areas but there were sand bag fillers that are used too.

 

5.1 Earth Quake strikes L.A. in the middle of the Typhoon, as if the storm wasn't bad enough! Wrath of God mayhaps,Cali getting it's Judgement in early?

The weather channel has pushed the fear of everyone melting for the past few months. every summer the MSM makes it sound like it's the apocalypse in AZ. People were cooking from the inside out! soon it will be about how warming is causing all the snow.
Yeah we have some wind and rain from this storm.

 

Why is I remember stronger , more destructive storms than this one 30 yrs ago ,, and global warming didn't have anything to do with them ??

That happened during the last big rainstorm - they opened the dams and let it all run to the ocean.

So, is California still there? I notice an absence of stories in the press. Perhaps the thing they didn't want us to see has gone away...
