Recommendations for America Here are some changes I believe could greatly improve America by solving most its major problems. Why these changes haven’t been implemented is obvious. Please provide comments and/or your own ideas. They do make you think... NEW AMENDMENT Term Limits - Establish term limits 6 years for the House and 12 years for the Senate to restore the Founders' principle of frequent rotation in office and accompany this with a mandatory retirement age of 70-years. NEW AMENDMENT Balanced Budget Amendment – Government must operate within yearly revenue received. Accompany this with wording against borrowing and/or printing money by the government plus a specific portion of yearly revenue must be spent paying off the national debt. BILL Federal Flat Tax - Replace corporate and personal tax with a Federal Flat Tax. Completely automate filing and collection. Dissolve the IRS. Dissolve old Tax Code. AMEND AMENDMENT XIV Immigration – Amend XIV to reflect at least one parent must be US citizen for child to become US citizen at birth. Immigration will no longer be on a lottery system but will be merit based. BILL Federal Voting Standards Act – Voting standards nationwide such as all voters must show a form of acceptable identification, voting can only be done in person, no electronic voting and no mail-in voting. BILL Removal of Dept of Education – Dissolve Dept of Education and change Federal Student Aid program to only support hard science majors in medicine, science, and engineering. Students must maintain 3.0 GPA. Payment of loan can also be made by serving in Armed Forces. ========================================================= ========================================================= The following are proposals are ones I am considering, more like Works in Progress as haven't thought them completely through yet...like how to do it, what are all the negatives, how enforce it, is it government's place, better way... Clean Bill Act - No more riders on Bills. Bill has a single purpose, no more hidden pork or special or additional interests. Evict the UN - Give notice that the UN is to leave within 5 years. No extension is possible. This will take some arbitration and finesse given the site of UN Headquarters is owned by the United Nations and has a special status within the United States. Deportation of Illegals – All individuals illegally in the USA are given a 60-day amnesty to depart the USA…… National Health Care Act - Fixed rates for basic services and drugs. Allow federal fund programs and loans for training more doctors and give tax cuts to doctors that live in rural America. Campaign Fund changes - A Limit/Cap on total amount of allowed Campaign Funds which will level the playing field of all candidates + Total Campaign Fund Disclosure A War Tax - implemented on every individual, Corporation, etc. to ensure the American people have skin in the game on how our military is used and every time our military is used whether it be war, peace keeping or humanitarian aid. Give a line-item veto to the President – allow pork to be struck from Bills and if not ‘the buck stops there’ and she/he can be held accountable. Eliminate lifetime tenure - Eliminate lifetime tenure for federal judges in favor of non-renewable 15-year terms for all federal judges or mandatory retirement age of 70-years.
Federal Voting Standards Act – Voting standards nationwide such as all voters must show a form of acceptable identification, voting can only be done in person, no electronic voting and no mail-in voting. I can't support this, for the sole reason that you would then be taking the vote away from those in our military branches that are deployed. Not to mention the fact that, by law, military members can choose to either register in their home state, or the state they are stationed in. Going to be tough, to let every military member travel to the state they're registered in, in order to vote!
Term Limits: Nope. House and Senate should have the same term limits as the President. 4 years, and 8 years if they are doing a good job. Balanced Budget Amendment: I assume you mean "federal" government. The federal government should NEVER "borrow" against ANY program. They should write bills specific to what they want tax payer money for and it should be voted on by We The People. They have become too big for their britches and proven they cannot be trusted with OUR MONEY. So, WE should have more say on where OUR MONEY goes. And, things should only be taxed ONCE; property, goods, paychecks, etc. In other words, if I buy something from say, Walmart, that I paid taxes for, and it turns out to be a piece of shit, so I donate it to a thrift store, that thrift store should not be responsible for having to tax that product again. If I buy property for a set price PLUS taxes, I should not have to pay taxes each year for that property. The government should NOT be able to tax more than once. They should NOT be getting OUR MONEY more than once. Not sure if I put that right, but that's how I feel about it... Federal Flat Tax: I think I explained it above. ONE TAX. Flat tax, sure... But stop dipping into our pockets more than once and the government should live within their means. They should Congress should NOT start out with a $174,000 pr yr salary and become millionaires off the backs of hard working Americans. AMEND AMENDMENT XIV: All I can say with certainty is, "Fuck off. We're full." If they have nothing to contribute to our country that will benefit us as a whole, then they have no business in our country. I will go along with "merit base" as long as they are not allowed to bring their entire family to this country UNLESS those family members can contribute EQUAL OR BETTER than them. We need to put an end to freeloaders and supposed "birthright citizenship"... Tired of free rides while we bust our asses every day to pay for their free shit! WE have to work for it. SO SHOULD THEY! And if they can't? Then GTFO! I will add this: If they enter our country ILLEGALLY the first time without a legitimate reason, then they should NEVER obtain citizenship EVER. If they are deported (as they should be) and they enter our country again, then this may sound harsh to most. But, they should be executed. Federal Voting Standards Act: While I agree with this in theory, we have to take into account that not all Americans are able to vote in person. We should regulate how nursing homes get to vote, how out of country mail-in-ballots are received, etc. Such as Veterans. They should be strict and varified. Removal of Dept of Education: This goes without saying. Clean Bill Act: One bill, ONE PURPOSE, PERIOD! Deportation of Illegals: Nope... Many of them are given a court date and they're never heard from again. I'll say this again. If they enter our country ILLEGALLY with no fear for their safety in their country of origin, they should be deported IMMEDIATELY. IF they RE-ENTER ILLEGALLY, they should be executed... Evict the UN: Evict? Nope ABOLISH.... National Health Care Act: The less the government is involved in our health care the better. We should be able to use WHATEVER IS OUT THERE to cure ourselves. The government should not regulate or DICTATE our path to a cure. PERIOD! B-17, Ivermectin, Fenbendazole, or ANY medicine or therapy that makes us better, THAT'S OUR GOD GIVEN RIGHT! Campaign Fund changes: There should never be special interests, lobbyists, and big name donors should never be allowed. There should be no more than $500 per donation. They are running for office to improve the vision of our country. They should never be allowed to get rich just for running for office. And ALL unused donations should be given back to We The People. They should not be allowed to keep those funds if they lose. Even if they win. When they win, any unused donations should be given back. Never kept! A War Tax: I am not a Veteran. But, in my opinion, NO congressman or President should be allowed to send our kids to battle unless they will lead the charge. NO MORE sending young men and women into battle for problems the GOVERNMENT created if THEY are not willing to go into battle along side them. That may be naive of me, or a bit out of touch. I don't know. But, I have many friends in the military and some of them didn't make it home. Two lost limbs. If I were a congressman, I would not be able to sleep at night knowing that I sent them into battle unless I was by their side. Give a line-item veto to the President: I think I made it clear where I stand on this matter. Eliminate lifetime tenure: I disagree. In my opinion, the Judicial branch should have always been a separate entity because lady justice is blind. Because they are part of the three branches, they can be manipulated, and have been manipulated since our country's existence. There should be a completely different set of rules when it comes to the judicial branch. They must be chosen from an unbiased POV, and if they EVER interpret our Constitution with a biased ruling, then they should be removed and replaced IMMEDIATELY. And that ruling should be struck down with prejudice and ruled upon until the interpretation of the law is concrete. I do agree that the mandatory retirement age should be limited, though. I also disagree with the mandatory retirement age. I think that when they reach age 60, they should go through a mandatory cognitive test to prove they can still perform their duties. In fact, I think that ALL members of ALL branches should perform the same test on a YEARLY BASIS regardless of age. So, that's it then. That's my pointless point of view. I hope I didn't hurt your eyes much.
This could be shifted to "Station Voting" as in your base/installation/ship is it's own piece of Sovereign U.S Property, no special issues, you cast your vote on time and it gets "Collected" locally and submitted after local certification! In this way, even a Ship at sea could have it's entire crew cast their votes and the ship then transmits the tallies ashore, simple deal!
ONLY NET TAX PAYERS and RETIRED NET TAX PAYERS CAN VOTE. Tired of the leeches hanging off of the ass of society being a major voting block!
Scrap idiot laws. Clean up the government and the old boys (sorry ladies) network. Clean up law enforcing agencies so the become trustworthy again! Make it so we can select from real leaders not political puppets. My 1.5 Ct.
That's a lot of the underlying issue. Our representatives were never meant to be leaders; if anything, they were to be followers of the peoples' ideals.
one thing needs to be done before any of that will matter: repeal the 17th. After that, much of this would be unnecessary. It was the key to perverting the US into a democracy, and is the key to restoring the republic. until and unless, everything else is a waste of effort.
More like after the coup and we're sitting around the guillotine after the entertainment. LOL! Opps! Yeah...that fell through the cracks. Definitely need to get a committee together to abolish the reserve and figure out how to loan interest free money to ourselves, since we are ones printing it, backing it and paying it back. Might be hard to find anyone for the committee since people have a tendency to die suddenly whenever they talk about this. @natshare Federal Voting Standards Act – Voting standards nationwide such as all voters must show a form of acceptable identification, voting can only be done in person, no electronic voting and no mail-in voting. No problem. We'll simply do the political shuffle and write an exception it to allow it for military deployed overseas or better yet find a better method. Stateside they can vote locally showing their military ID. This is doable and not a showstopper. Ura-Ki's 'station voting' is a good idea and sadly talked about every damn election but nothing is ever done about it, heard it for years. There would have to be exceptions made for the State Dept personnel also and probably some others...like me. I was a contractor overseas for years and voting was a PITA, sometimes I couldn't vote or it was too difficult. @Tempstar Term limits would help correct all the rest.... That and a Balance Budget. Pull the money and we pull their teeth and tied with Term Limits we would see a HUGE difference overnight. Hell, I think we would lose a lot of the politicos. @CraftyMofo For every page of new laws, one or maybe two have to be deleted. And, regulations too! @Kamp Krap ONLY NET TAX PAYERS and RETIRED NET TAX PAYERS CAN VOTE. Tired of the leeches hanging off of the ass of society being a major voting block! I've been thinking about this, and I like it. It makes complete sense. I would support this. The more I think about it the more I like it... The taxpayer is actually the one paying for everything, to include the politicians' salaries, so shouldn't they be the one making the final decision? Yes, I think they should. Sign me up! Realize I forgot to address ' Congress insider information' allowing them to make HUGE stock market gains due to their amazing prediction abilities... I really screwed this up somehow, so hope its readable...
I put my opinions within the 'reply' since it was fairly long... Thanks for taking the time to reply. Interesting!
@Idahoser Please explain how this is perverting the US and what effect its reversal would have on us. I've never quite understood it. Isn't the People choosing their Senators a good thing? Reference the 17th Amendment... "Passed by Congress on May 13, 1912, and ratified on April 8, 1913, the 17th Amendment modified Article I, Section 3, of the Constitution by allowing voters to cast direct votes for U.S. senators. Prior to its passage, senators were chosen by state legislatures."
Add eliminate Presidential executive orders (it was never intended to be used the way it is now) eliminate the IRS eliminate the FBI eliminate the 14 th amendment --anchor babies eliminate HUD and all all the rest welfare, CDC eliminate the EPA no regulation can be enacted without Congress approval Any law passed ---10 have to be removed from the books Reinstitute States Right Only property owners can vote few more end all blanket emigration -immigration should be based on if they have a skill we need, Stop bringing refuges into the country we have more then enough unskilled labor. convicted of treason public hanging mandatory service for all both male and female
The problem with that is that it puts the onus on the military to collect, tally and report the votes. Likely, much simpler to just state that if it's not coming from a military member (or their family, or civil servants working overseas), it's null and void. Easy enough to prove, and APO/FPO mail is collected together, transferred stateside, then transferred to the USPS for delivery. If the post office ain't getting it from the APO or FPO, it's not any good!

However, I cannot say that I see a clear difference between having the state's People choose their Senator over having the State Legislators choose their Senator. I mean, I see pros and cons to both paths, but it isn't truly clear to me which path is best. Perhaps I don't know the details well enough. For example, perhaps the State Legislation can recall her/him immediately if they're not doing what they expect and appoint someone else. I don't know if this is true, but would this be a good thing? Maybe. It seems it could also lead to a chaotic mess also. Anyway, I cannot get a good grasp of the pros and cons here as looking at it from where I sit is appears not to be much difference since the people elect the legislators who appoint the Senator to the people electing the Senator themselves. Anyone else wish to chime in and give it a shot?
Michigan, as an example, has had a majority Republican house until just recently. As a result, both of our Senators would be Rs, not Ds.
