Finished it up this morning except for cutting a 3/4" marine plywood rectangle to bolt onto the post behind the breaker box. To mount my switch and outlet boxes on to. LOL 600 pounds of quickcrete holding the post down. And used a rear garden tractor tire with a cut sidewall for the around the hydrant concrete.

Ed my Electrician friend is coming in the morning to deliver a 60amp welding whip he built for me and is going to connect the ends to the breaker boxes. I have a firm rule that I don't wire feeds into the boxes and I don't mess with cable bigger than 6 gauge.

Going into the house was easier than expected. Cut the hole out perfect first shot. LoL I am usual 1/32 inch off and have to wrestle the threaded conduit through. A straight shot into the box was very nice! I had to go at a slight angle up the wall because the big 600amp main line is right beside the base of the conduit on the right. DSC00349.JPG

Ed did the math on current and amp loss over the distance and comes up with I will be able to safely pull 59 amps at the pond box. He figures I will lose 2.5 amps per 100 feet of cable. I can live with that :) The 5500GPH pumps pull 5 amps each. The LED lights will pull like 4 amps for A LOT of lights. SO 14amps to those things. I am going to put my camper (The Krap Kave) out there. I am just going to hard wire its breaker box to 40amp breaker in the box with 6gauge and call it a day. And that leaves me 5 amps to spare if I want to put another pump in for a stream, fountain or another waterfall. Actually more amps since the Krap Kave runs on a 30amp breaker from the cabin with 10/2 wire. I only blow the breaker when I have both air conditioners running, the coffee pot. The Desktop and forget to turn a AC off when I turn the microwave on LOL.

Next project out there is running the hose for the fountain and putting the big rock and block puzzle together for the waterfall. I got a little breathing room on the water Oxygen. in the last week it has shot up to 4ppm I suspect the submerged Elodea beds have taken off and are sucking the CO2 and Adding Oxygen. I need to compress the air tanks and do a dive in the 3-6 foot water and see whats going on down there. Can't come up with any other explanation as to why the oxygen went up .7ppm in a week. Still a long way from the 7ppm I want to see but 4 takes a ton of stress off the fish!

Sounds like the office I used to work in. Got so bad in the summer, that if someone needed to print something, they'd holler out, and one guy would turn off the fan by his desk. Gave us just enough spare amperage, to allow the laser printer to heat up before printing. Otherwise, pop goes the breaker!

When I was working on the cabin I put the kitchen counter in and then a 4 gang set of outlets all on one 20 amp breaker. I used it for 4 battery charges for the cordless, one for the air compressor, and one with a extension cord and never once blew the breaker. When the cabin was finished I just left that set up. Mrs Krap promptly decided A coffee maker, a toaster, a big microwave, a electric griddle and a toaster oven would all fit on that counter and all turned on at the same time LOL. It was not long that it got four 12/2 wires each on their own 20amp breaker going to each gang LOL. Still can't get her mind around just because there are 8 outlet holes does not mean you can use them all at the same time. I am putting a 6 gang box above the work counter in the new house kitchen and will be running 6 20amp breakers and line to each set of outlets. That 600amp box only has room for 100 single pole breakers so I should not ever run out of breaker space......... It is like the main feature in my new Krap Kave :)

Let Mrs Krap watch how Eva Gardner learned about Manual Load Sharing on the Sitcom “Green Acres”. That is how I taught AlaskaChick when we were first married…. Oh yea, then make sure the Rolling Pin is hidden away for a day or two…
