    1p1-255x300.
Grandma and Grandpa had an old 55 gallon drum and no trash pickup.
There might even be one out at the shack in the bush but we only use it to burn natural vegetation like branches and sticks.
Those are pretty effective and cheap as heck.

Cut the bottom off, put a few pieces of rebar through the first raised ring from the bottom, cut a diamond mesh ring to fit inside to sit on the rebar. Sit on concrete blocks with a ash catch pan underneath. All ashes go down, glass/metal remains on the mesh. They also last A LOT longer without acidic ashes sitting in them that get wet and eat them up fast.

Using cinder blocks or 44 gallon drum are certainly options for constructing a trash burning incinerator. Another option, though requiring suitable materials, equipment and skills, is a rocket stove incinerator, which could, by inclusion of a copper coil for heating water, do double duty by producing hot water as well as flammable rubbish/trash materials.. The benefit of a rocket stove is that the fire will burn hotter and is likely to reduce smoke pollution.

I know what you're saying, remember having a heavy gauge wire basket many moons ago for paper, leaves, etc., lived in quiet suburbia, no worries about forest fires and such. I've used 55 drums as well myself, going to post a few more ideas, again enjoy. :)

If you check the plans you'll see it mounts an electric blower, the unit should burn a bit hotter than a barrel or basket normally does.

Michigan in the recent past banned burning barrels. Out in the country .. well, we haven't gotten the memo.
Love the design and resource content you've been adding to our forum

The problem with A LOT of content Authors is they stole their content from someone else, which not be so bad if they gave a little credit to who they errr borrowed it from to keep their youtube monetization money flowing in.

If the author etc. are known or listed in the work they certainly get credit for it, i recognize info worth saving as well as passing around to others, but not smart enough to author original content, LOL. :p:whistle:

:ROFLMAO:,, yes sir ,, that's me ,,, not smart enough to author it myself,,, I figure if I come up with something,, someone else has already been doing it ,, so I don't want to be trying to post anything giving the impression that I invented the idea.
Like the burn barrels ,, I've been cutting the bottoms out for years and putting on top of 3 cinder blocks ,, leaving the forth one out so I can shovel out any unburned trash and ash . I can get a year or better out of a barrel keeping it off of the ground.
And I like all of your info posts ,, I've just got to figure out how to catalog that stuff ,, and everything everyone has posted .

Maybe but when it comes to stuff that is so old like just to randomly pick one.... Using Egg Shells or calcium around tomatoes to cure blossom end rot. Who do you even credit with that discovery. Yet you constantly see " New Garden HACK I just discovered! Use Eggs Shells around the base of tomatoes!!!"

I'm sorry Kamp I did not mean to upset anyone, i wasn't accusing again sorry. What i meant was i've been collecting pdf / files for years and i recently did an inventory (40,000+ Yikes!), i'm working my way thru them deleting or saving as i go. As i come across files i post the ones i think are of interest. I discovered at least one file that was already posted here by someone else earlier, it's the one i posted about an above ground shelter/root cellar, Asia-Off-Grid posted it shortly before his passing, if i remember sometime 2018 ?
