I could probably learn the bug thing if I had to feed my grandkids or watch them starve. We'll eat a lot of hackberries and damned grackles and cowbirds first.

Unfortunately, I contracted a disease/sickness recently, not especially life threatening but could be. they call it Alpha-Gal and it's an allergy to mammalian meat (beef,pork,deer, gnd hog, rabbit,etc.) it comes from a tick bite but it's not Lymes disease, wifes had it for 10 yrs. +. You can eat birds (chicken, turkey, etc.) and fish ( wife loves good catfish!), also i suppose lizards, snakes, bugs, etc. but wife said NNOOOO WAY!! LOL Some people have very mild symptoms, others can have anaphylaxis shock and die consuming the wrong stuff. wife had a reaction from a medicine, not the med. itself but the capsule that held it, just hives was all thank god for her. Again unfortunately we have to watch our diet, for me it's dairy (not lactose, a carbohydrate instead).

we try very hard to avoid getting bit, wife also had Lymes Disease some years earlier as well, ticks seem to like her for some reason. Wife mainly gets hives as her reaction, for me dairy causes intestinal distress, it's not lactose intolerance (was tested!) but the Alpha-Gal, i got bad stomach cramps, gas at one time but quit all dairy and the symptoms have disappeared. YEAA!
