I think I'm a little over paranoid. Nobody in my direct circle has gotten it, but I know some people in other states who had bad cases a few months ago. I hear some really bad coughs in the community. A lot of people do travel through here. I'm glad I can do my own thing.

Happy Sunday! I'm reading a book called "Lucy by the Sea" By Elizabeth Stout. It appealed to me because the story takes place in Maine and I've been missing Maine lately since I know the weather is about to get nice for a few months before the bitter cold returns. It is beautifully written, but it is all about a woman's struggle through the covid pandemic. Lol, I find that ironic since I'm still paranoid and don't want to get sick. I have managed to stay healthy and well for the last 3 years. The last time I was really ill was when we first moved here. Everyone we came in contact with was very sick. It was May of 2019 and I was sicker than I had ever been. Lost my sense of taste and smell and felt dizzy with vertigo that didn't go away for months. Every time I tried to lay down and rest, the dizziness intensified and it felt like I couldn't escape it. Even our cats got sick and we had to bring them to the vet. I never want to get that sick again, hence the paranoia.

The good news is that I'm speeding through this book to try and get through it and read something else. I'm also reading a book about the GAPS diet which talks about gut health. I'm getting some good recipe ideas, but she does use a lot of honey so those recipes are out.

I'm getting into the habit of walking for a mile each morning. Just observing nature and getting some fresh air. Today is a rest day and I think I'll garden outside. What are you reading or listening to? Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!

Aloha! Hope you had a wonderful weekend. Yesterday was a rest day, but I still started my day with a 1 mile walk, practiced daily shimmies, then practiced yoga at the end of the day.

Since I've stuck with practicing bellydancing, I ordered a hip scarf as a little treat. I'm not taking formal classes, just trying to learn with free youtube videos. My friend Teresa encouraged me to give it a try and I love how gentle, fun, and playful it is. I usually try to avoid paying attention to my belly, but this is a good way for me to practice appreciating it. I would never do this in public, but I'm glad I ca practice at home.

Today I got my 1 mile walk in and got to fertilize the fruit trees. The coconuts are coming in nicely, lots of pineapples, and one of my younger trees started producing its 1st avocadoes!

I like the workout program that I'm doing because she changes the format every week. I think today is going to be a full body workout! Wish me luck!

    What are you working on?

Nothing fancy, Jiu Jitsu at 5am is all for today. I worked but that’s just standing around, looking good. Lol.

5 am Jiu Jitsu sounds pretty darn fancy to me! Jiu-jitsu any hour of the day is hard-core and I respect that. Keep looking good and doing what you're doing.
And if things get a little heavy go outside and then you'll be OUTSTANDING!
A little cheesy? I couldn't resist. Seriously though, keep it up!

Aloha! Thank you @kckndrgn for inspiring me to get more steps. I am really enjoying my daily morning walk. Maybe someday I'll pick up the pace and turn it into a jog. Right now I'm using this daily mile as an opportunity to pay attention to my surroundings (notice the birds, trees, and fruits that are coming into season), breathe deeply, and pay attention to my posture. I think that I've been a chronic sloucher for most of my life so I'm trying to change that.

I know that I've mentioned it in another thread, but I think it's worth mentioning here too that yesterday was my 100th day on keto! My weight has been flickering / fluctuating this whole month and it's been challenging for me to drop lbs so I finally ordered a tape measure. This morning I found out that I've lost 8.5 inches from my waist since I started this in February. Another exciting observation is that my measurements aren't too far behind where I was in 2021 when I was 15 lbs lighter than I am today and lighter than I have ever been in my adult life.

This was very encouraging for me! Yesterday was a standing abs and cardio workout. I felt strong and energetic. Shortly after I practiced bellydancing then ended with vinyasa yoga. I think today is leg day!

    I'm currently reading:
"The Case for Keto" by Gary Taubes
"Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close" by Jonathan Safran Foer

Also, something exciting happened. My mom and sister have been prodding at me via text and trying to make me feel awful, but on the worst day I found out that I won a Goodreads book Giveaway. I never win free anything so this was exciting. Yesterday the book arrived in the mail and it's called:

"The Song of Significance: A New Manifesto for Teams" by Seth Godin. I'm taking this as a sign from the universe to keep moving forward and to focus on my goals.

I hope you are all doing well! If you are going through some challenges in your own life I would like you to take 3 deep breaths (or more) and with each breath think of something that you are doing well.

Aloha! I feel really good today. I got a paper filterless pour over filter that is made of fine mesh and it brewed a very nice cup of coffee. Last night I decided that I really want to commit to IF at least for 16 hour intervals. I've been struggling with this link because I'm a bit of a night owl and haven't kept a close eye on the times that I'm eating. I hoping that this may be a missing link.

Right now, since I'm sipping on my 2nd cup of coffee and feeling buzzed from it; I'm even thinking of doing a 24 hour fast to kick things off, but we shall see how I'm feeling in a few hours. It is my rest day so this could work out well. I'll let you know what happens.

Yesterday I felt better than I have ever felt physically and I felt mentally sharp too. I made it to 18 hours of fasting before I decided that I wanted shrimp and veggies. It was a rest day, but I still did my daily walk, daily shimmy practice, and ended the day with yoga. Today I'm hitting the weights again. I don't know exactly what the plan is, but I know it's going to take 30 minutes. Hope you will all have a wonderful weekend!

Talk to @Hanzo about Tai Chi and Quigong as they are great alternatives to inject into your routine.

@Dunerunner I will have to talk with @Hanzo about this. It's amazing that he's a teacher I tried a few youtube classes that my friend sent to me and really enjoyed it, but I imagine nothing compares to a live class. I can't believe what a small world it is, but I think we may live on the same island in the same subdivision and are neighbors.

Nothing new on my end to report really. I did have a procedure on my cauliflower ear and the gal did my blood pressure and resting heart rate before doc showed up. Both fantastic! Doc was a gangster to lance my ear and drain drain drain it. It would have made a great YouTube video.

There are leg straps that you can use to assist as muck or little as you need going up. Maybe add that to your negatives. Making it up, even assisted can be just the boost you need. Maybe pun intended.

Sorry to hear about your friends' covid. I wish them good health.

On a side note, your workouts making me tired.

On another side note, use your legs when you lift. I got back last Friday from my mother-in-law's viewing and after I picked the dogs up from the pet sitter, one did not want to get in the truck. And since the driveway was slanted, I leaned into the door to hold it open and bent to grab the dog and put her in. All back, no legs and weird twisty angle... yeah, you guessed it. Threw my back out. Thankfully, it has been loosening up over the past week despite a trip to Las Vegas to see clients and meet up with my daughter for her birthday.

My daughter started getting cauliflower ears and she drains them herself. She also uses a clothespin to put pressure on it to keep it from getting too misformed. Been working so far.

What happened @Gator 45/70? I'm not fully caught up on this thread. I popped my friend's stitches while sparring. Dum dum didn't tell me he had stitches until after I grabbed him by the neck and started cranking. He just missed getting killed when some punk slashed his neck. Lucky the guy with the knife was not better with it.
