Last couple of years I have had health issues and what I did plant I wasn't able to take care of. I'm going to be light this year to see how I feel.

Nothing like a little light gardening! An herb garden takes very little care.

I got my Gravely running again. Put the rotary plow on it and plowed a bed for potatoes and onions today

[IMG]I got potatoes and onions in the ground. As I said I am going to not over do it this year. I plan to have 3-4 beds like this. This one has 3.5 pounds of seed potatoes and a half pound of red onions . One will have a couple of tomato plants,a couple hills of cucumbers and a couple hills of summer squash . Third bed will be a 3 sisters garden with corn beans and winter squash. Then maybe a row of sunflower down the side

@plumberroy I hope that you're feeling better. It's exciting that you're gardening again! This garden is going to be amazing!
I also had to scale back. It can be hard not to overdo it, but just started reviving my garden beds again. It feels good to be outside and get fresh air.

    Just an update
Onions are up, potatoes are starting to come up . All three beds are plowed.
Last year I had foot surgery in May the guy my wife hired to mow destroyed my electric fence around the garden. I have rebuilt that . It's up and our beagle confirmed that it's working. In reading I have come to the conclusion that there was a forth sister in the native American garden . Sunflowers I have planted corn and sunflowers this week. I have 7 days off I have worked on the garden, mowed and drowned a few worms

I still have over 2 feet of snow on my garden. Likely frozen to more than 18 inches deep.

@DKR You just need some good old fashioned “Moose Poo” to allow the Sun Shine to melt off the snow cover… May is coming fast….

Can you till or plow frozen ground or would it look like ground up dirt ice cubes?

I doubt you'd get a tiller to even break up frozen ground. Same with a plow.

The trick, if you live in short-duration warm climate areas, is to do your growing above ground. Brings the dirt up out of the permafrost level, and allows it to thaw faster.

    New project

Dollar tree has plastic stackable tri-pots
    https://www.dollartree.com/large-stackable-plastic-planters-11x4x115-in/362239
I drove a piece of pipe in the ground. I set a cinder block on each side of the pipe to get the pots up a little and it's easier to we eat around . I mixed compost , garden soil and a little potting soil I have to fill made sure they were interlocked the planted a couple of spinach seeds in each section

@plumberroy This sounds like a really cool project. I bet it will look like a work of art too when the spinach starts growing!
