@Gator 45/70 propane will burn cleaner than gasoline, won't it?

Extremely clean burning fuel so is natural gas.
I have an Impco propane carburetors set-up around here for a 350 Chevy.
    Things can get interesting?

Happy Friday! Today was pull day (back and biceps.) I really challenged myself to add more weight today and it feels good to feel strong. I've been in a bit of a hula hoop rut, but this week I started hooping and practicing inversions outside and that has been a good way for me to get outside and dig myself out of the rut.

It's Day #60 of keto and I'm super impatient, but sticking with the path
I know that I didn't get where I am overnight and I'm not going to get to where I want to go overnight either, but quitting won't help!

Yesterday, I thought that I was going to shift my rest day because I didn't feel like working out, but I found the energy to do a late-night shoulder and lower body workout and I'm so glad that I did! I felt very strong and today I feel like this rest-day was well-earned. I stretched and hula hooped in the sunshine this morning. I like to use Sundays to clean the house and prepare for the week. Laundry is done and I'm going to do some gardening in a bit.

How was your weekend? Hope you will all have a wonderful week!

Well, got back out for a morning run, I love walking or running in the morning. I've got 3 'paths' from my house that I run/walk on a regular basis and I can change the distance a bit with each one.
Last weekend the spring allergies got the best of me and I got a bad sinus infection. A few days of rest and plenty of meds to help keep my sinuses clear and I'm better. Still have a bit of a cough, but it's bearable.
Original plan was to walk this morning, it was a cool 44° this morning, but when I got out side I decided it was a run day. I pushed myself the 1st mile, then did some sprinting in the second with a nice pace for the 3rd mile then the last little bit was a sprint to the finish line (driveway).
I have managed to drop 3.5lbs in the last week, even with being sick and not moving as much. Or it could have been the fact that all day Saturday was spent outside grinding stumps, filling holes and doing yard work. Took plenty of rests during the day, but by the time night came I was exhausted and tried to go to bed early. Nope, too tired/exhausted to get to sleep. Oh well, Sunday I took it easy. I had a much better night, ready for the work week now.

@kckndrgn I'm glad that you're feeling better. Great job on your run! That is such a great way to start the day. 44 degrees sounds chilly, but probably nice for running. I do like a little bit of chill so that I don't get too hot after warming up. It's so nice that you have an assortment of paths to choose from that are close to home.

The yard work you did on Saturday sounds like a workout for sure! I have also been doing a lot of gardening and yardwork and I sleep well at night when I do. Sunday was a rest day for me too and now I feel ready for the week.

I hope you will have a wonderful week! Thanks for sharing!

@Dunerunner Great job! It sounds like you have a great routine. I started lifting weights this month and I've felt stronger than I've ever felt. I think that Keto helps with muscle recovery.

Keto and intermittent fasting actually increases mitochondria in the muscles. That equates to more stamina and strength.

I took my hoops out for a spin this morning. I don't have any gymnastics or dance background so I'm learning these skills from scratch.

Today's workout is supposed to be a strength and conditioning workout, but I decided to have dinner first. I'm also starting my 2nd week of core and inversions drills. This week I'm working on my L-sit. I still need my yoga blocks for that one, but it's getting better!

    What are you working on?

This is very exciting for me. I think that this is the longest that I have ever stuck with any kind of diet or plan (without falling off). I felt so inspired by all of you here and really appreciate the tips and encouragement. When the doctor told me I needed to lose weight, I didn't know where to start, but this gave me direction. I still have a ways to go, but am looking forward to it!

I would have never guessed that joining a survival forum could help me get my life in order like this. Mahalo!

It’s been good for the forum in my opinion. If you’re not in decent shape in a survival situation it’s over before it starts.

@Alanaana one thing that has helped me was not thinking that I was on a "diet" or anything temporary. Living a Keto lifestyle is permanent and forever. I know that if I ever went back to the SAD (Standard American Diet) lifestyle my weight will rebound and I will feel like crap.
I remember when my Endocrinologist started telling me to lose some weight and eat better, I asked how. I always got the standard response of "eat less, move more" or "eat a low fat diet and exercise". I would do that for months and would either not lose weight or would gain weight, never feeling any better. I was also pre-diabetic with an A1C right around 6.0

After I stopped listening to my Dr and the .gov on what my diet should be I fully adopted the keto lifestyle. Yes, I've had some "non-keto" foods, but those are the exception and once in a great while. On the Keto lifestyle with my carb intake of less than 20g per day I have lowered by A1C to 5.4, dropped my triglycerides to a "normal" level and raised by HDL

On a personal note, I got a 5.1 mile walk in this morning. Average pace was 14:20/mi with a total moving time of 1h 13m. All of this was before breakfast, so in a fasted state. "Breakfast" after the walk was some bulletproof coffee (strong coffee with butter).

@Meat I agree. It has added more meaning behind my goals. Now that the sedentary lifestyle is so mainstream and accepted and things are more convenient than they've ever been, it's easy to take our health for granted. It's kind of a false sense of security. I'd rather be healthy and prepared to survive.

@kckndrgn Your experience is giving me a lot of hope and inspiration! I also want to embrace this as a forever lifestyle. When I started and was experiencing keto flu I asked people if this is safe and sustainable long-term (google has all kinds of things to say), and it's good to know that it is.

My A1C was 5.8 in February and I also received "professional" the move more, consume less advice. My doctor is an Osteopath and something she said that is sticking with me is, "don't believe anyone who tells you that you need more carbs. There are rare occasions if someone is a powerlifter or doing ultra distance runs, otherwise, low carb is the way to go."

Thank you for recommending Dr. Berry. I started watching some of his videos. There is SO MUCH info out there that it can be tricky to filter through it and find the reliable sources. I also looked up the browned butter bites and am excited to make some. Something that I really like is the fact that eating this way doesn't require a ton of steps or ingredients.

5.1 miles?! You're amazing! That's a great distance and pace. It is kind of rainy here so I need to start bringing an umbrella or raincoat to my walks. We like to walk at night because during the day time it's crowded and a lot of people let their dogs go off-leash. At night, nobody is there, but I need to be more prepared for the rain.

I'm sipping on my coffee with Kerrygold butter as we speak. Hope you are enjoying your day!

    Good Morning Monkeys!
Got a 4.07 run in this morning, a nice easy run at 11.2/mi, a bit slower than my usual pace but also an additional mile.
Last year I was setting monthly running/walking goals, I have not done that this year, yet. One goal I did not get to last year was to run my "block". A neighbor hood block is not that far you say? Well, my block is about 6.5 miles. I think my longest run last year was just over 5mi. Since I did a 4 mile run today, my goal, before the end of April is to hit the 5 mile run, it will be the same route that I walked yesterday, which I plan on walking a few more times.
I try not to walk/run in the rain, not my cup of tea. During inclement weather I use the treadmill in the garage. I don't mind it, but I would much rather be out in the sunshine doing my activities.

    Good Morning @kckndrgn!
Great job on your run! That's a nice distance. I don't think you'll have to worry about the pace because that's going to continue to get better and better. Wow! You live on a monstrous block. 6.5 miles is a good distance and such a great goal to work towards. It sounds like you have a good plan regardless of the weather too.

Today is my weekly weigh- in day and I'm making progress! Yesterday I reassessed my macros and started using a food scale to monitor things. I'm excited to see the progress and feel stronger.

Keep up the amazing work and healthy habits!

    Aloha Monkeys!
Strength and conditioning week is challenging me! It's so good to know that I can get a good workout at home. :DYesterday I did some outdoor hula hooping and stretches. I'm working on an elbow pass called the "bunny ear pass." It's one that I can't do yet and when I look at my recordings I can see that my old injury still affects my range of motion. I tore my rotator cuff in high school (which feels like lifetimes ago). Thankfully, I was able to repair it with physical therapy and didn't need surgery, but it's kind of nuts how injuries can follow us throughout our life like this. I'm going to keep chipping away at this goal.

I revisited the crow pose and I think it's getting a little better, but I still have a fear of falling on my face .

Don't worry, I'm not trying to promote or sell anything here and I'm not sponsored by anyone. These workouts are all free and it took me awhile to find a channel that I like and trust. It looks like today is going to be an "Upper Body and Cardio Shred Workout." If you have dumbbells you can give it a try too! I like Sydney's workouts because she provides a good warm-up and cool-down and varies the training style from workout to workout. She is a certified NASM personal trainer and nutritionist.

Right now I'm sipping on coffee with butter :coffee:, feeling relieved that taxes are filed, and enjoying the rain. What are your plans for today?
