Wow! My neighbor growing up had cows. Ray was well into his 90's when we sat around his newspaper fired pot belly stove that was taller than me. He told me about the men that tried to rob him. Ray was still milking cows and even at 16 I couldn't grab both strands of bailing twine on a hay bale with one hand and throw it high up on the wagon like Ray could. He told me about the two guys that tried to rob him. Fat boy and skinny guy. Ray noticed that the fat one had some bare belly sticking out from under his shirt. Ray grabbed fat boy by his belly and twisted. This caused fat boy to scream "He's stuck a needle in me!!!" Skinny guy jumped out the window they'd come in through and fat boy followed as soon as Ray released his grip. He said it'd been months and they hadn't come back. Ray is one of the heroes of my youth, and it was an honor to know him.
