Happy April Everyone! I missed checking in here over the weekend. I spent the weekend moving, and turning this house into a home. It was a super easy move because I just moved into the other house on my property and we don't have a lot of things.

I usually like kick off a new month with workouts and goals, but this time I decided to get settled and rest. I feel well-rested and am going to do a workout in a little bit. Today will be cardio and core. If I have more energy, I might do some handstands and some hula hooping.

This month I want to be consistent, continue my healthy eating, worry / stress less, and get better sleep.

What are your health and fitness goals for the month of April? Comment below to share!

I’m sticking and staying with my routine. I’m at a level now in Jiu Jitsu where I can most likely whoop your great aunt, maybe.

@jefferson thank you for the encouragement! I think my "running career" was clipped short and I'll have to try again soon .

When I was running I felt unstoppable. The good feelings and jolt of energy is awesome. I also knew that I had "done enough" because I was too tired to do more after that :ROFLMAO:.

Aloha! The weather is nice and all I want to do is be outside and garden. Yesterday I mowed and worked in the yard for 2 hours.

In the evening I did a leg workout then experimented with some Hula hooping in the new space. Before bed I did some stretches, balance exercises and some gentle twists, then used a yoga wheel which is almost like a foam roller, but more unstable.

What are you working on these days and do you use a foam roller?

I hope everyone's having a wonderful week! I finally got my laptop set up and will be logging in soon.

Yesterday was an upper body day. I also did my weekly weigh in and was thrilled to find out that I lost more weight this week than I did during the week that I ran 40 miles. This was encouraging to know that I can get results with solid nutrition, moderate exercise, and without suffering and feeling half dead :ROFLMAO:.
Today was booty day and I also did a quick power yoga and practiced bellydancing.

I have decided to start my day with an hour of gardening and it has been good for my soul.

What's new and exciting in your world?

I really love my morning routine here. I wake up, do some stretches in bed, then make coffee. My cats and I enjoy coffee on the lanai and take in the natural beauty as the chickens and the chick's rush over and beg for food. One momma hatched 16 chick's under my house

Today's workout was total body and it was challenging! I've been spoiled and haven't felt very eager to sit at the computer these days. I also practiced yoga and some Hula hooping outside.

Do you have fun plans for Easter?

Hope you will all have a Happy Easter weekend!

I have a calendar I write on to log my activity. It’s a mental game I suppose, even blank days are called “rest.” Lol. 90 percent of this is 50 percent mental.

@Meat keeping a log is such a great way to stay on track. I'm starting to see that even "rest" takes practice too. I'm getting better at it. I used to always worry that I wasn't doing enough. Hope you're enjoying your weekend!

I had to deactivate my social media accounts. I've noticed that the ads are awful for sticking with a nutrition plan. How can I succeed if I'm constantly being shown all kinds of cakes, candies, and pasta? My mom even sent me huckleberry chocolate and huckleberry kettle corn from my favorite cider mill, but I gifted it to the neighbors so that I wouldn't be tempted. Instagram has been trying to wear me down so I'm going to opt out for awhile.

I was also spending too much time doom scrolling and comparing myself to everyone else. Hopefully now I'll be able to concentrate. Do you ever take breaks from social media?

I worked in the garden for 2 hours and this evening I'm planning on doing a pilates workout. How are you moving today?

I spent 4-5 hours straight on Facebook shortly after it came out. Was so mad at myself for wasting that much time, I deleted my account the next day. Haven’t been back.

@CraftyMofo that was a wise move on your part and you're definitely not missing out!

When I decided to go back to school and study computer science, I deleted all of my social media. I had just bought my first house and switched jobs too so it felt like a complete life overhaul. I stayed off of it for a solid 2 years and accomplished a lot in that time.

It's kind of nice to be able to keep in touch with friends and family and share pictures and memories, but it's an absolute time drain and I don't think fb and Instagram respects privacy at all. Those app developers intentionally make their apps addictive so that we stay on them longer. I already feel lighter less than 24 hours later!

Side benefits of walking, I did spot an old Cherokee jeep 4x4 4,0 yesterday walking with wifey.
Now to see if its for sale for a number I can live with.

@Gator 45/70 That's a definite benefit of walking! I hope you can get it! Jeep's are nice and easy to fix. That's what I love about walking. There's always something interesting to see.

I'm still doing this whole workout thing. Yesterday was a upper body push day so chest and triceps. I've been gardening a lot and have some "progress pics" to add to the garden thread.

I'm doing Sydney Cumming's free "Pre" program which is helping us to prepare for the "Summertime Fine" program that she does each summer. I got really good results when I did it two summers ago and I think I'm going to try to do it again this summer.

    What are you working on?

The owner hasn't contacted me yet? Probably a 98/99 model Cherokee a true beater lol.
I'd like to drop in a high compression engine 4.0 and throw some propane to it while cruising down the highway at 70 just to see if the milage would improve?
Who knows, I'll probably blow myself up trying.
