There is still 1 station in my area that will do those things , if he has the extra hands working .

 

And my understanding is every state in the US permits self service gas stations, and have for a long time, except Oregon and they only permit them in the rural counties. That true you who live there?

If so, it would seem to fit. People too stupid to not vote for nanny politicians will get politicians who think they are too stupid to pump their own gas.

 

I thought NJ had outlawed self-service as well.

 

Not so: A sacred text inspired by men, whether Christian, Islamic, Hindu or Scientology et al is a splendid way for some men to regulate the behaviour of other men and women to the the priestly class's benefit *, not so much a case of the prophet motive, but the profit motive
