Actually they still can right now. Existing small engine equipment can still be bought, sold and used. Rules say new equipment must be zero emissions (ie. battery) starting model year 2024 for most equipment using <25 hp engines. Zero emission generators (that's oxymoronic) aren’t required until 2028 though they will need to meet more stringent emissions requirements starting 2024.

The liberal commies want to hamstring our energy production with all this BS regulation and mean while China is
dumping more crap into the air than we can imagine

"Report: China emissions exceed all developed nations combined"

As I posted before during the age of dinosaurs the level of C0-2 was twice what it is now and guess what the planet survived

I have an electric chainsaw (wired) that works great for smaller stuff. Ofcourse, I can only go as far as the cord reaches.

Cool huh? An extension on the retarded design of their gas cans. Hey, let's make it as difficult as possible to not just get energy, but transport or even use it. What a great idea. Especially if you don't want anyone to have the energy to fng kill them with.

Oh yeah? I just watched the thisolhouse guy put what looked like some kinda coconut grease on his circular saw blade. Said it cuts down on the dust and makes the blades actually cut better. So yeah, any moving metal part needs lube, at some point. It can be had from any good woodworking suppllier but I don't have the name.

I used to love this clear lube we used in the theatre bus. It was ~$15 a tube, silicon based, and I'd buy it today if I knew where to get it.

I like lubed condoms as the smoke and the smell of burning rubber doesn't do much to improve the mood for the ladies.
    But yeah man you're correct.

Nose clips and goggles, like swimmers wear, will keep the smoke and burning rubber from ruining those special moments, and don't forget some earplugs, as they muffle all that wailing and screaming! Also, don't forget to remove the batteries from the smoke alarm and put some Vaseline on the doorknob.

A new sharp carbide blade usually works best, but the lubing is a good idea as well.
I wish I could find a product that we had in the boating industry called Super Slick. It was used to retard algae on the bottoms of boats. When shoveling snow, it worked best keeping the shovel from wet snow sticking to it in near freezing weather, better than ski wax.

    Zimmy Wait, I'm not ready!

Next visit to see an army brother in Reno I'm loading up every non-working chainsaw, generator, weed-eater, and push mower on the farm. Just a quick hop over the mountains and BOOYAH! I'm getting rich, BABY!

The market for used gas engine equipment is going to go out the roof!

    Go one better ,
    learn how to make Alcohol.
    learn how to make methane.
    learn how to make hydrogen.
Learn how to make acetylene gas.
Learn how to process waste oil.
If your going to do it , do it long before it becomes necessary, otherwise the materials and information may not be available.
Some of you are not yet into solar for one excuse or another. I started when I was poor and buying used panels and did not have good sun exposure at the time, but eventually when I moved again the place I came to had good exposure, and that investment has paid off immeasurably.

I used to live in Franklin county Virginia.
    I can make alcohol.
I think one of the most useful things to make is nitric acid.

I can see solar being important in your part of the country. I guess I fail to see its importance here (MI).

Not trying to be a contrarian, just think a wood stove would be a better prep here.
