New Jersey woman blows herself up in house full of cats (nypost.com) Yes, she blew up the house rather than leave. You got a neighbor with a lot of cats? Watch out.....
Crazy, insane, eviction notice and nowhere to go, essentially squatting in the house with over a dozen cats.
Oh no! I have two. Hope that doesn't qualify as crazy. LOL My neighbor lives by herself and has 7 dogs. When I get to the wall that separates our yards the dogs (large) come running over, stand on their hind feet and peer over top, snarling and growling until I reach over, pet their heads and scratch their ears. Then they love the attention. Odd.
not real sure why but info on the cat lady parasite that should be broadcast big time... just doesn't get out there... Toxoplasmosis - Wikipedia New light cast on the 'crazy cat lady' parasite Parasites
Cat parasites are scary Ocular toxoplasmosis is an infection in the eye caused by the parasite, Toxoplasm a gondii. Toxoplasmosis is the most common cause of eye inflammation in the world. Toxoplamosis can be acquired or present at birth (congenital), having crossed the placenta from a newly infected mother to her fetus. Most humans acquire toxoplasmosis by eating raw or undercooked meat, vegetables or milk products, or by coming into contact with infected cat litterbox or sandboxes. These enter the unborn and later can cause blindness. I dated a good-looking gal in HS - a real cheerleader. I found out that the family routinely ate raw hamburger (Mom was French) - worse yet, they kept two cats. Stopped seeing her.
I feel so sad for those poor cats. Does that make me a bad person? It is a very sad and desperate circumstance. This week there was a massive house fire a few blocks away. I've never seen a house burn completely down to the foundation like that. Under all the rubble was a ton of junked / burned out cars. Thankfully, the news said that nobody was hurt and it was a squatters house and other neighbors said it was basically a trap house riddled with drug activities.
I'll bet the real property owner is on the hook for cleanup. I'll also bet the TPTB did zip in keeping the squatters out of the residence.
@DKR Sadly, it's a lot like living on a reservation here and you're right. The squatters are a real issue. I would feel differently if they weren't so entrenched in tweaker activity and tried to take care of the space that they dwell in. Sadly, that's not a case and they like having aggressive and loose pitbulls (that are probably starving.) The jungle will probably reclaim the land in a few days.
