We dont have a waiting period any more anyway so longas you clear on NICS you by hand guns and rifles by filling out the form, the FFL calls in the info, you plunk down the cash and take thenew addition home, with or without a CCW.

You got to Missouri. [winkthumb] As other states get more restrictive it seems like we get less. [applaud]

Aside from maybe Komifornia, most of the states are getting slowly better lately or at the least moveing lateral with getting CCW passed in some form now in all but 2 states and castle doctrine laws of some sort in more and more states.

Finally bit the bullet and got the Midland WR-100 Alert Weather Radio. Much better than the glorified AM/FM with Weather Band radio I had gotten before! I was grocery shopping, and Publix has a whole display full of them. I just set it up. Seems a good buy - can't wait to get some bad weather to see how it works! [lolol]

Also finally got my "Turtle Fur" neck warmer - now I can cycle to work with a warm throat & chin! Cool!

Ordered two AK47 cleaning kits form SG - should be here this week. I'll put extra rod sections into the first kit, to use it with the longer barreled SKS rifles.

Tucking away 1000 rounds of 22 LR today. I know this is so underwhelming compared to y'alls happy home-owner arsenals  but for me, it's a pretty big step. I mean, I actually remembered ammo this time!

Just a little more food and some additional paper products. Oh, that's right, I now have my first handgun, Springfield SD40.

I should have held off a week or 2 on the veggies. I have about a dozen string bean plants, 6 limas, 4 tomatoes, some squash and 6 cukes. Gonna have to get the pots for the container garden.

I suppose it depends how early your growing season starts. Over here it tends to be March/April, but I would imagine in warmer climates it might be earlier. I too am thinking of a container Garden. I have all the soil and pots, I'm just making up my mind on what to grow.

This week I finally managed to get hold of some 4 gallon buckets and some 02 absorbers (not cheap :( ). Mylar bags in this part of the world are simply not available to buy, so I purchased a vacuum bag sealer and used that instead. Seems to have worked a treat, especially combined with the 02 absorbers.

Btw, is it just me or do the 02 absorbers seem to make the air immeadiately around them very cold? According to the info at waltons they should really heat up the air.

Got some unexpected training today. I had volunteered for some First-Aid, CPR, and AED training at work, but never heard anything back. Well, I got notified today that training started at 8:00am, it was 8:30am[lolol]

So off I went to get my Red-Cross CPR, First-Aid, and AED training done.

Figured some free training and a refresher couldn't hurt. Besides, got me out of the "cube" for the day, and the company picked up my lunch tab :)

Picked up some .308 at a decent price. Bought first aid supplies at Big Lots (if you have one of these stores - go check for these kits), refried beans (8 cans for 3.50) and some paper supplies. The Steripen came in and so did the Iosat and the book Nuclear war survival skills by Kearney- excellent book!

Picked up some more camping gear.

    1) A woodland camo Bivytent from Sportsman's Guide - I already have it in dark green, and it's a good product! Excellent for MC roadtrips. Packs small and light-weight, and now I can blend into the woods. [beer]

    2) A gross of Tri-Ox bars, to keep my Esbit stove going strong!

    3) A self-inflating sleep mat - no more 'huffing & puffing' the old floater!

    4) An OD green mummybag rated for 20 degrees - I think that will be wishful thinking, but it'll work for Florida winters.

    5) A four pack of surplus rubber 'wash basins' - Dutch military unissued.
Great for washing up camp mess gear.

    6) A ten-pack of oil filters for my bike. BikeBandit rocks!

I haven't posted in this thread in a while.

We haven't really put that much away lately, the money just wasn't there. But as we can, we've been putting more food and TP away. I'm also putting a little ammo away as often as I can. I haven't been able to get the DW involved in stocking ammo, yet. She goes to Walmart every week and it sure would be convenient for her to pick up a box each week.

I've also got her to accept guns in the home. She is going to go with me to the range to try some of the rentals. I'm hoping that she will like the 357, shooting 38, that way I'll be able to justify a 357 lever gun.

Same here, money has been a bit tight, high heating cost in the winter puts a strain on the pocket book, plus as spring approaches it is time to start looking at more camping supplies, which in the long run help with the preps, I'll be all set if I ever just want to say screw it and head for the deep woods.
I have some of the garden plants seeding right now though.

It's been a slow getting my wife on board with the idea of stocking food, but as the economy starts to to go south and she is faces with the idea that her job will be consolidated in the next two years she is starting to come around, I'm leaving books around the house for her to read about stocking up in hopes that she gets the hint. My parents grew up during the depression so my whole life we had a good 6 months of food in the house. My wifes side grew up after the depression and all have the idea that you just run down to the store when you need something. Well someday you may not be able to get what you need at the store. Or due to lack of employment you may not be able to buy what you need. Of course all that post here realize that.

I fully comprehend tight money, but sometimes you need to do something. Ten AR mags are added this week.

This post is worthless without pics. I did not realize that you could shoot BBs out of airsoft.
