I was talking to a teenage girl who works in a local shop and she told me about one of her side hustles. She rents phones to kids at school who've had theirs taken away. $20 a week, or she'll sell you a phone for $50. The phones have no service plan but can access Wifi, so they can communicate on social media. She says kids will go crazy without a phone, so business is booming. She's got good business sense and does math in her head faster than customers can keep up on a calculator. There may be hope.
More fire forming, or turning $2 cartridges into $8 ones. .348 Winchester brass formed into 11.15 x 58R Werndl in two to three shots. This was after the initial expansion of the neck and shoulder. Charge was 10gr of Unique with a 1/4 sheet of toilet paper over the powder followed by corn meal to the bottom of the neck and another 1/4 sheet of toilet paper to hold it all in place. At this point I can load bullets normally and the subsequent firings will iron out the case into the shape of the new chamber.
I may on the next batch. I only had one. The first one, split out of the first ten. One more had an obvious factory defect at the neck and will be cut off for future testing. I'll work with ten to start since I reload at the range bench for these.
this might be posted elsewhere, but i saw people with all kinds of camp saws/pack saws for a bob etc. my suggestion is to use a keyhole/drywall saw. some of them use sawsall interchangeable blades, some blades are 6-8 inches long, different tpi, etc.
something cool and interesting for all the monkeys to see. heard strange noises in the shop's wood stove and found this little fellow. opened the big door and away he/she was gone.
must have got inside the stove pipe some how and ended up in the stove itself, seemed ok to me, could fly and use legs/feet. happened yesterday, brightened my day for sure!
