Chaos or Politics?

The news has been reporting the "chaos" going on in congress trying to elect a new Speaker of the House. I read a really good article on it today that sheds another light on what was really going on. It very well could have been, not the utter chaos as reported, but an example of true politics the way it was supposed to be. How so?
The 20 holdouts of the Freedom Caucus knew they could block McCarthy's bid for Speaker but they also knew that they could never get the votes to elect a speaker of their choosing. So what was the game plan? We heard of the "concessions" being made to overcome this stalemate. Sounds like politics as usual, right? Scratch my back I'll scratch yours. Maybe not.
The Epoch Times and some other outlets are reporting on the strategy by the 20 and what they ultimately accomplished. Which, if all true and all is implemented then it is a major win for freedom, for the American people and for the taxpayers.
These are some of the reported "concessions" that they forced upon the swamp rats to get their guy elected.

    1. As has been reported, it will only take a single congressperson, acting in what is known as a Jeffersonian Motion, to move to remove the Speaker if he or she goes back on their word or policy agenda.
    2. A “Church” style committee will be convened to look into the weaponization of the FBI and other government organizations (presumably the CIA, the subject of the original Church Committee) against the American people.
    3. Term limits will be put up for a vote.
    4. Bills presented to Congress will be single subject, not omnibus with all the attendant earmarks, and there will be a 72-hour minimum period to read them.
    5. The Texas Border Plan will be put before Congress. From The Hill: “The four-pronged plan aims to ‘Complete Physical Border Infrastructure,’ ‘Fix Border Enforcement Policies,’ ‘Enforce our Laws in the Interior’ and ‘Target Cartels & Criminal Organizations.’”
    6. COVID mandates will be ended as will all funding for them, including so-called “emergency funding.”
    7. Budget bills would stop the endless increases in the debt ceiling and hold the Senate accountable for the same
Also being reported is a commitment to cut all future aid to Ukraine. Maybe not completely but capping it and reducing the billion dollar waste of taxpayer money.
The one thing not mentioned is a commission to investigate what really happened on Jan 6. Unless it is to be covered in the "Church Commitee".

    The article summarizes it this way;

"What has been going on is being referred to as “chaos” by Democrats and the media, including, regrettably, many at Fox News and other supposedly right-leaning outlets. Still, others claim this has been a victory for the “extreme right, imposing their views.”

It is anything but. It is and has been for the last few days democracy as it should be practiced, and as it is practiced in many democratic assemblies across the world, just not, lately, in the USA."

I totally agree with the above…Notice that the MSM, CALLED IT “ Caos” but never actually reported what the actual issues were, that these “ Holdouts” were pushing… They also demonized these CongressCritters by calling the “Far Right Extremists” of the Republican Party… Well to me, that is plainly derogatory name-calling and makes me want to dig deeper into the specific issues…. In his Acceptance Speech the Speaker Specifically pointed to repealing the funding for the “ New 85,000 IRS Special Agents” and that brought a big applause from the Right Side of the Isle…

The best thing I see in that list is a vote on term limits. If it isn't just some slam it through no vote so they can say "we voted on it". When it does come up we need every American we can get to call, email and write their congressman and tell them to support it. I really hold out little hope of it passing but it will be the first chance we have had to get it done. We have to let our voices be heard, loud and clear. Would even that be enough? Who knows.

The MSM couldn't even keep a strait face reporting this, all this was was the The Rubs demanding and forcing a return to the actual rules they must all follow, a correction of Nasty Nancies Power Grab during her reign, nothing more! The few extras like term limits were a bonus! This also gives back the power and voice to the smaller councils/groups, and forces their voices to be heard on various issues! It also puts Jim Jordan in a massive post, and he is one of the bestest people we have in D.C!

Indeed....they are not mutually exclusive, and are generally a feature rather than a flaw...for within chaos there is opportunity, and political grifters rarely say no to lucrative opportunities. If there isn't enough chaos, self interested opportunists like Trump will happily create it.

So if these changes make it through Congress but still have to pass the Senate and then the occupier in chiefs desk. Many of them, like the repeal of IRS funding for new agents is likely to either be stalled in the Senate or vetoed.
    So politicks as usual.

I think you're right on the money, MM. It would be refreshing to get someone as speaker who could show some leadership and negotiate with the Senate and President about undoing this. Unfortunately, I think they'll just say, "We tried, but...".

That is certainly part of the concessions and Representatives have already mentioned that it's being fast-tracked.
Twitter is a great place to get updates from the Conservative lists in Congress. Just have to occasionally run through the hoops every time the shadow ban comes around, which always happens to those of us not within the narrow acceptable parameters set by the coders. Eventually, this should change perhaps...

    Update:

I've never done Twitter. Only FB I have is to keep in touch with family and friends. I like MeWe and I use Duckduckgo for search engine.
