Travellers are being subject to search of their personal electronics (laptops) entering the u.s..(Good reason to use a "goto my pc" kinda software leave your desktop at home usw the laptop to communicate only.)Agents are calmly requesting passwords: These tsa guys have got some cojones...http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/02/06/AR2008020604763.html?hpid=topnews
The way I see this is just like the unlawful searches. If you want to search my house or even my car, get a warrent. You have no lawful reasonable suspicion. I don't care if I have to wait for you to get a warrant (which you will not even bother with) and I do not care if I miss my flight. You are not going to infringe upon my rights any further. If EVERYONE did this, we would not have to worry about this crap anymore. I can understand them asking to see if your laptop turns on, that is fine. Standard SOP to make sure it is not a bomb, but asking to see your web sites visited, etc. is . They can go straight to hell.
Ditto! That is way the other side of the line in the sand and I'll go to jail first and me and my lawyer will make this my hobby.
wow, really disturbing. Time to encrypt the whole system harddrive and "forget" the key stored in the smartkey usb dongle at home.
Boy I think some heads would spin with some of the documents on my laptop Yup off to jail with me and no own would ever hear from Sheen Estevez again I'm just glad my international travel days are over, at least for now.. I'm trying to do away with my domestic flying but to do that completely I guess I would have to get a different job.
