I bought two Wilson Combat stripped lowers at a screamin' price, but I have to go to the gun shop tomorrow and probably get in the BGC line. I let my CCW lapse in July so I likely won't be able to zip through the line like I used to.

 

Beg and/or pay your dealer extra to call in your BGC and you'll leave with your purchase.

 

Step 1 - buy whatever you can lay hands on now
Step 2 - after law goes into effect, TRADE for what you want
Step 3 - if the idiots who passed this law ever ask, that weapon was lost in a "tragic fishing trip".

There are ALWAYS ways around their foolishness.

 

With a registry in place that becomes much more complicated. If the firearm you traded eventually gets used in a crime you will be found at a minimum of unlawful transfer of a firearm. Under Oregon's safe storage law failure to report a lost or stolen firearm makes you partially responsible for the crime.

In short, all bases are covered by the State who lives to push lawful citizens around while ignoring crime.

 

It's by design. If this had not gone through they previously announced that the legislature would take it up.

Since it was passed as a Voter Initiative it allows them to play victim as they delay as long as possible the establishment of the permitting process. "Well, you citizens put all these requirements on us and while we are (hardly) working on it. We were totally unprepared amd are just doing the best we can to accommodate the will of the people" as they smirk.

One of the goals is to put as many gun stores as possible out of business, and unless there is a stay until the permitting process can be implemented along with the prerequisite two day law enforcement training all but outdoor recreation stores and sporting goods stores that sell guns will go out of business.

 

These pretty much sum up what I think about 114 and all the other 2nd Amendment violations.

 

It's mine understanding they donated a little over $25K and then got fined $8K for late reporting of donations. They honestly weren't much help considering how much the opposition received in donations.

Starting the background check on the last two firearms I will likely purchase in Oregon today in three hours. Let's hope I get a lucky spot in the CHL queue so they will never be sullied by a registry. Keeping my fingers crossed, some are still getting instant approvals while others get stuck way back in line with no rhyme or reason.

 

The NRA is not the tip of the spear in statewide politics. The power players are SAF, GOA, and Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC) which is new to me. OFF (Oregon Firearms Federation) is working on the mag ban portion.

Sadly, while I respect the NRA for it's safety and training programs I'm done sending them hundred dollar bills that LaPierre can use to light his cigars and wipe his azz. They are no longer the tip of the spear but are instead the shaft.

 

Instant approval! Talking with my FFL anybody who was getting instant approval before is still getting instant approval.

I went to Grants Pass to pick up two Wilson Combat stripped lowers this past Tuesday. They were serialized! And I'm number 21,4XX in line for my background check. I don't know if I'll get them before Dec. 8th or not at which point, who knows?
I'm old enough to remember when this used to be America.

 

Some Oregon FFL's are honoring the three day rule. If that FFL will not honor it then perhaps have them shipped to one who will?

 

I've thought of that, but I hope it's a hoop I won't have to jump through. I've been a customer there since it opened and have a pretty good relationship with the owner. So hopefully if we get too close to the 8th he'll cut them loose.

I used to get quick approval with my carry permit but I decided to let it lapse in hopes of dropping off one of the many intrusive and illegal lists I'm on. Oh well.
