I totally agree. History hasn't been kind to Chamberlain but in truth he didn't have much choice as the UK was so unready for any type of hostilities; furthermore, I would bet Hitler was well aware of this. Hell, Germany wasn't ready either but was in a much better position than the UK. I am also in total agreement about the 300,000 Russian conscripts. Unfortunately, it appears many Russians seem to think that all it takes is numbers, that thinking probably is left over from WW2. Numbers can do much; however, they can also be as much a negative as a positive. I believe the Russians of 2022 are not the same as 1941 - not even close - and they cannot and will not mindlessly accept those type of losses. I really wish there was some sort of out for both parties as there appears no end in sight. The only thing I can think of is the death of Putin or his incarceration.

I also think there is a big chance, maybe as high as 75%, that we'll see some attack on the USA in the near future. I do not think this will escalate to nuclear weapons but admit I might be naive; I certainly hope not. I expect either internet (financial?) or electrical grid or a tit-for-tat pipeline incident...even though I do not believe we blew up the Nord pipelines.

I would imagine that was discussed with Russia already. Also, should they show signs of using tactical nukes, we would also consider giving the same to Ukraine - after all they gave up their nukes with the insurance all countries would respect their borders (Russia signed that agreement!) - and while we might hesitate to use them, the Ukrainians will definitely not. You know, the real problem is Putin doesn't have an out...and now they are sending 300,000 ill-armed, ill-trained cannon fodder to plug the breach. I suppose 'quantity is a quality all its own'...but while this worked in the early days of WW2 for the Soviet Union one has to remember this is the 21st century and politically this will tear Russia apart if 300,000 more graves are dug. I suspect Putin knows this...which makes it even more scary.

I think China has learned a lot and they know how WW2 ended and why the US was able to run the table on everyone. They are going to wait until all the initial attacks are done and the people are tired and begging for it to end and then they will have their way.
