I was just wondering what anyone else carries ON THEM all the time in the way of gear/kit asa sort of on body BOB. Im not talking about the BOB that stays in the vehicle while you are a block or 5 away dealing with your business or even the pack that goes along when you go hikeing but what is on you when you go shopping or to work and so on?

I know since I dont wear BDUs as much now mine has reduced. I still carry my handgun 24/7 unless a work situation creates a conflict (currently a Bersa Firestorm 9mm UC with 13+1 and a spare 13 round mag). On top of that unless striped of everything to go into a 'steril' building like an airport I also carry 2 pocket knives, a dimond dust whet stone, a Zipo, a card or 2 of spare flints in my wallet, 3-4 refills of fluid for the Zipo in Tobasco sauce bottles from MREs, a 9 LED flashlight, multibit screw driver and my cell phone. Deepending on which hat Im wearing, I also have my parachute cord hatband on which is about 50' of cord braided down to be a single wrap around the hat and about 1/2" or so around. The cell is on my belt and the cord is on one of my hats I wear a lot but the rest is in pockets.

So what survival tools do you carry on you all the time and how?

    Since I ALWAYS have my wallet & keys . . .

    Wallet contains P38 can-opener, bandaids, safety pins, fishing line & hooks&shot, and a micro-knife.
    Key chain holds a fire-striker, a micro-LED light (BRIGHT!), & a compass.
On my belt I always carry a folding pocket knife or a multitool.

I am woefully unprepped when I'm just out to get groceries or whatnot. I always carry the snubby 357, but that's it. Not even a cellphone, I don't own one.

Oh yeah, I forgot, do also have the p38 can opener on my key chain.

I just tend to think about it at times, kind of like when have to go up in a highrise, or even in a big warehouse store, things like if the lights got knocked out by a storm or anything. If didnt have my light how hard it would be to find the way out. Then also in the event of a vehicle being towed/stolen/destroyed and something happens.

I figure a cell phone is a BIG bit of kit to have. Before I got my cell I use now I had one that was deactivated so no bill and carried it in my glove box since they will at least call 911 if there is an accident or some such. I like the idea though of haveing my cell with service since its a life saver for not only stuff where you may need 911 but those smaller personal situations like when you left the lights on and need to call a friend for a jump start some such. Its also kind of handy since they cram so much other stuff in them now. My cell is my alarm clock, notepad, camera, modem for my computerand phone book as well as my phone.

Cell, crkt pocket knife, 3w led AA flashlight, money. I will be in a city when I only carry these so everything else I can buy/get or go to my bob in the vehicle.

In general: basic first aid stuff and meds (plenty of Benadryl since I'm just a little allergic to wasp stings), box cutter (which govt buildings do not like much), pop-top can opener, very small knife/tweezer combo (must upgrade that), lighter, salt, itty bitty flashlight, couple safety pins, mini sewing kit, notepad and pens. There may be more in my purse, but I can't think right now - still working on the morning caffeine ingestion ;).

I really do need to sift through and modify that list a bit. For example, I'd like to carry a firearm but my revolver is just a bit too big . Still looking for a boot knife, as well, but the budget isn't stretching anyplace near far enough at present. I'm constantly re-evaluating the goodies (as a mom, this list is so far pared down now the younguns are all up and grown, you'd not believe it!) so it's a work in progress. That and I really don't like carrying a purse/bag - prefer the old fashioned "pocket" or bag firmly attached to the belt but I so seldom wear belts right now.....

Hats off to you who carry full kit.

I'm not fully dressed, without my Gerber multi-plyer with toolkit, very bright TerraLUX flashlight, Master twoblade pocket knife with gutting hook, disposable lighter, and a pocket load of screwdriver and nut driver tips. Wallet has condom and bandaids, spare truck keys, and miniature copies of kids birth certificates, with all of our SS numbers attached. boot lace for boot or firebow. And my keys hang from a blackdiamond carabiner rated for 800lbs. I've looked at these bracelets, but I think they could be improved upon. Ive seen them .In my opinion it's more of a novelty. It might work once or twice but the ones i have actually had in my hands would break in it's first use. There may be some higher quality ones out there, but I haven't seen any.

I really should get more serious about my EDC kit. Depending on where I'm going I tend to have the following:
Almost 100ft of paracord weaved into a belt, 1 flat mini pc first aid kit, Buck trio folding knife, an altoid tin kit I tossed together(containing some matches in the box, a couple birthday candles, small pouches of bacitracin, a few cough drops, a small thing of superglue and a tube of chapstick) and then a folded emergency blanket goes in one of my cargo pockets.

I've also got a small led flashlight on my keys and once in a while I'll remember my leatherman multitool (I really should be better about that.)

I'll be adding a firearm as soon as I can afford it P:

In the direction our society is heading, a firearm in the vehicle should be as standard as a jack and spare tire.

Hmmm, I don't carry much compared to some folks here.
    On belt:
    Colt series 80 1811 Govt
    One spare mag
    Buck Ranger

    In pockets:
    Cell phone
    various spare change
    Wallet with FRN's / ID
    Surefire backup light

    On key ring;
    Round screwdriver thingy
    P-38
One key for house, shed & every personal vehicle.

And the hat O'the day on my head. [coo]

For the past 7 months, I have been working at a location that requires everyone to go through a metal screener each time you go into the building.

It is so childish and non-essential!

All it amounts to, in the final analysis is this screening requirement justifies hiring more law enforcement personnel for the screening. Soooo, it is actually a jobs program that harasses the taxpayer.

Anyway, I have been keeping most of my everyday carry in my car. I am looking forward to getting to a situation where that screening foolishness is not present.
