water wheel geared to an AC gen (thats an alternator that will not rectify the power ) send the high voltage AC power long distance to a high voltage rectifier and then into a Midnight Classic to the battery bank voltage as the midnight is set in turbine source ,
    Just like here

My thought was to use to use the waterwheel to keep the battery bank charged ,, the rest is outside of my expertise,,, not that a waterwheel charging system is in my expertise either .

I haven't tested it out on my fridge yet because I just got it a couple of days ago.. But I got the Jackery 1500 (see link below). The claim is that it can run a fridge for 15 hours on a charge - also they claim that with 4 X 100W solar panels it can recharge in about 6 hours. That math tells me it should run all day and night and recharge during the day.. In optimal sunlight....

certainly not an expert on alternate energy systems, the water wheel is a great idea as long as you have sufficient flow. the battery/inverter idea is good as long as you have sufficient amp hours (bat. storage) as most inverters i know of draw power all the time even when the fridge/freezer is at rest. i may be wrong about it (on ragged edge of my knowledge).

I've been working away from home the last few years ,, getting close to being done ,, then going home to stay ,, and I'm going to be working on a bunch of projects . This will be one of them.

OutBack and Trace / Xantrax all do a sleep / search mode with very little power consumption.
Morning Star 300 and 600 units use the least amount . .003 Ma
This all depends how you link in the inverter and how it is used
