You can disconnect some of the electric bikes from the internet. Don’t use the app and pull put the telemetry system. Already considering TPTB shutting down all these fun high tech cars… i don’t want any part of that. Or they might “geo fence” you electric car so you can only go from home to work and back. Maybe the grocery store once oer week to get you ration of bug bars…

First unless you are charging off of wind , nuclear or solar electric cars are no more environmentally friendly than modern gas cars all you are doing is dumping emissions in someone else's back yard. If you don't want it in your backyard don't do it to someone else. I believe it is 100% about control . I saw a new clip that during a hurricane evacuation Tesla sent out a update to give some of their cars more range . If they can increase the range over wifi they can shut them down. I try to keep my vehicle full and I have 10 to 15 gallon of quality stabilized fuel on hand . That gives me 600-800 miles of range

the tank is awesome and invisible to 99.9% of observers. Can’t say enough good things about these guys.

I have a lot of natural gas fired power plants, they run something like 60% efficient. Plenty of wind power too, but mostly during the day, but I charge at night.
Sounds like don't buy a tesla, or better yet don't live in a hurricane evac zone.

Electric cars today are like when the solar panel thing got started. Expensive but prices will drop as the tech gets more commonplace. I have no interest in an EV. Mainly because I'm being told I need to go that route, and secondly they would be a PITA for our situation. We have plenty of rigs here already, and that POS Santa Fe with 300k+ miles on it still runs great for when I need to go to town. The closest to and only EV I will own is the revamped golf cart for $1,500.00 for running around our places.

GM pledge to make all vehicles they produce electric by 2035. Ford pledges a much more reasonable but improbable 40% by 2040.
    https://www.cnbc.com/2021/06/13/gm-ford-are-all-in-on-evs-heres-how-dealers-feel-about-it-.html
    Why it's bullshit?
GM needs to go from selling like 1% electric vehicles now to like 8 or 9% next year. It's not going to happen.
Food needs to go from selling about 1% to about 2 or 3% next year and that's not going to happen.
GM had about a 10% market share in 2020. If they started making nearly 10% of their vehicles all electric and they are 10% of the market share, then they would raise the nubers of new electric vehicles sold about 1% per year through 2035. The market share of electric vehicles in 2035 should be around 10%.
If there is enough lithium to make that many electric vehicles that fast, it won't be GM making them. That would mean ford, tesla, nissan, Toyota, hyundai stagnate EV sales and GM not only takes over the market they dominant it. Let's face it, GM ain't dominating shit. Nissan will likely stagnate their EV sales because they are nissan.
Yeah, not going to happen. GM has only been losing market share and appears that they will only be continuing to lose market share especially as long as they continue to plug diversity hires into high places.

I think the Big 3 don’t realize they are being played. Having them go out of business is also, wait for it…

Shoot man, If I'm ever getting one of those EV thingys I'm also getting a suitcase small generator and will use as needed.
I know how and where I can get some 40/45 octane condensate.
It may stink and need spark plugs every so often but....I ain't scared to try it me.

Generators are dumb. They will only get you about 1 mile per 15 minutes of charging. The way to charge them is rig up a way to flat tow your car. Teslas can definitely do it, Nissans can supposedly do it.
The key is to know when to quit. Don't wait for the car to be bricked on the side of the road. Stop the car before it's dead, call a friend with a truck, suv or v6/v8 car that can tow and have them pull charge you.
You can charge at about 1 mile per minute at 40 to 70mph if you and your tow buddy have balls of steel.

Well when I get my knee fix this fall I'll be able to ride my Harley again --it gets 40 miles to the gallon and I don't have to recharge it

Yeah I saw that, The gas burner ran hot after about 5 miles of towing, Both ended up at a rest stop.
Fuel milage of the gas burner doing the towing? They didn't mention what it was.
So now you have 4 dummy's on the side of the road.

If pull charging an electric vehicle is over burdening the liquid fuelled vehicle, let up on it. An electric vehicle can be pull charged anywhere from a few kw up to 70kw, I hear the Chevy bolt regeneration peaks at 70kw. 70kw is like 95 horsepower, that's like towing a giant ass camper.
If I were to pull charge my leaf at 70mph I would get at least 20kw of regen, if I "ride the brake" slightly without actually using friction brakes I would get over 35kw. It takes about 25kw for the leaf to push it's self down the road at 75mph, so it you take 25kw just to overcome drag and rolling resistance, plus you are putting another 25 to 35kw into the battery that may be too much for some vehicles that aren't heavy duty tow machines.

My wife's hybrid car was getting 44 to 48mpg when it had the fuel economy tires and rims in it. I switched to the rally style wheels and high performance tires that had been on the old car. That dropped mpgs to around 42 on the hybrid.
But now her old v6 car gets about +4mpg with those fuel economy tires and wheels on it.

I have pastures full of horse and mule fuel. Would not be viable for the long runs but the 6-7 miles to the closest little town or even the 22 miles to the 5,000 pop town would be workable. And hey I could drive slower than the Amish and make them have to pass me for a change!
