My Grand Father rolled over the beaches on D-Day +3! Gramps was a tanker and he was the most senior commander in theater at the time, so he got the tough missions! Their first was to roll north and steam roll the Jerries on the way, ultimately to block the Panzer divisions kept to the north! That mission lasted only a few days before the push out of the landing areas found them in the hedge rows fighting farm to farm!
4 weeks later, Gramps got the new M-26 tanks shipped over and really started pounding their way inland! Not much fighting tank vs tank, but when they did, the new M-26 showed it's worth big time! He always told us how scared they were rolling the M-4 Sherman's knowing that they were pretty much sitting ducks to German Armor, and even knowing how to fight them, getting hit was a death sentence! He also said they were pretty scared the first several days in the new tanks, until one of them took a hit from a German 75mm and it bounced, after that, it was game on! Gramps always told of them sitting in a blocking position at an intersection and waiting for the Jerries to roll out toward them, the blasting them to hell with the new tanks big gun! He said they saw lots of Tigers, but only ever got the chance to shoot one, and after popping it's turret, that was it! He said the Panzer 4s were fare more of a threat, there were more of them, and they were quick and harder to hit, he said the Tigers were only a threat if you let them sneak up on you, otherwise they were easy prey! Only King Tiger he saw was a burned out wreck, but he said they tested the armor and found they could kill them pretty easy if you got a good angle and shot into it!

The truly scary part, is the absolute lack of historical significance that younger folks seem to have, for today's date! Got a few blank stares today at work, when I'd ask younger folks. One guy asked, "Which country was involved", to which I replied FRANCE (should've said Germany!). That was enough for him to guess D-Day.....but that, from a guy who's pushing 50 years old!:(

Reminds me that I need to show this to all the young'uns (and a few older folks, too), that I know!

Looked at News Max and Fox News and could not find any mention of June 6 1944 D-day Did not bother to look at the leftist media for sure they would never mention it. Sad that so many gave so much and within a generation soon to be forgotten. Guess my Vietnam brothers in arms will soon be forgotten too. I will never forget

My grandfather was a sailor on a battleship and provided artillery support to the troops. Later during the war they took 2 Japanese torpedoes or so I am told. He never talked about it. I have the flag from the ship and a photograph of him on it along with all crew. He is easy to pick out as he was completely bald at 18yo lol.

My Dad's Brother served aboard the U.S.S. New Mexico from just a few days before the attack on Pearl Harbor where he reported for duty aboard in N.Y. Harbor, to 1946 when he reported to the hospital in Bethesda for the battle of his life! He served aboard from the very beginning to the bitter end, watched his beloved battle wagon cut up as scrap and died shortly after, at the age of 29!!! They said it was consumption, but we believe it was meso or very bad T.B! He was a chief water tender, basically chief fireman aboard!

So very few left now. I lost my last physical connection to them this year. A seaman on destroyers both Atlantic and Pacific before it was over. The Greatest Generation indeed!

Joey Skidmarks' spring has worn out. They wind him up to give a speech, halfway through it winds down, and you can literally see his mind go blank and the lights go out.

Go to you tube to view it and see the comments. Are there still enough patriots left to do it again?

I believe there are enough left to do it . Although we are moving slower ,, we are still moving .

My question is,, if the Patriots fight to preserve this union ,,,, will there be enough Patriots left afterwards to carry on ,, or will it just be left to the queers and snowflakes to continue pissing it away .
