What's better - gas or plastic, short and fat vs tall and skinny, cheap or expensive?

Any kind will work for me as long as it doesn't have one of those damn safety spouts!

they are easily replaced, many places sell replacement spouts and vents that can be added. I do this to almost all of my gas cans, sure does help.

If you can't find one of the old style spouts you can always gut the insides out of the new type. Then get a self tapping decking screw with the rubber washer. Screw that into the back side of the can. Remove it and you have a vented can. Screw it back in and it won't leak fuel. I've done this a couple of times.

I got a replacement spout for a plastic fuel can, as the old one was leaking.
