I would think purchasing a firearm on a credit card is the most common method of payment. As long as the dealer gets paid, not sure why they would care.

Sounds like part of problem was that he was in the void between teen and adult in the system that often happens. Grand dad said he was a felon and couldn't have a weapon, but with "teen" records sealed, he probably showed up OK on adult purchase check. Have seen it happen in a couple cases. Have to protect the rights of the kids you know as they all turn their lives around when they reach that magic 18 th birthday. Cases of 12 or so year old minority kids in Boston stealing and rioting and being turned loose and the press not being able to identify them in order to protect the poor infants rights. The gangs know who is above the law due to age etc.
The picture of the truck and the timeline the killer posted in his tweets makes me wonder about where the truck wrecked. I know it was near the school, because the teachers heard it. Was he trying to drive up to the school across a playground and hit the ditch? Why not ram the truck into the school? Maybe that was the intent? And what ever happened to the "retired FBI agent" who was chatting with the killer online?
