What gall! Disney changing the 1940's 'classic' image of La Fata dai Capelli Turchini from being a young pink skinned, long haired Caucasian blonde gal into a.....*gulp*..... woman of luminescent turquoise colour, with short cropped hair...um,..of.... *gasp*.... African appearance.

The end times being the waning of white Caucasian cultural hegemony over American society.

The 'new' 21st Century La Fata dai Capelli Turchini, (as opposed to the 'old' mid 20th Century La Fata dai Capelli Turchini animated character, based on the much older 19th Century La Fata dai Capelli Turchini book character) does in fact have the turquoise (blue) hair! So , at least in one sense it is closer in essence to the signature feature of the original La Fata dai Capelli Turchini in the Adventures of Pinnochio, than the Disney 1940's version. So, for the purists, Turchini IS the classic colour, not golden blonde!



I have to love Americans bang on about private enterprise and the importance of privately owned enterprises responding to 'market forces' in order to turn a profit for their investors. The revamped La Fata dai Capelli Turchini would seem to be a prime example of that economic dynamic...yet cultural antediluvians are harrumphin' like its the end of the world that a private corporation dare pander to a changing population of diverse origin. Don't like coloured fairy god mothers...get in a time machine (as recommended by @enloopious) and travel back to that golden age of the mid to late 1940's when coloured folk knew their place, and the uppity ones were left decorating trees.

No...have shot a few roos in my time...and have walloped a wallaby with the front of my Mazda sedan when I was doing some country driving on a freeway at night...

and have seen drunken fools on videos sparring with kangaroos...but it isn't healthy getting into close quarter combat with a kangaroo...it can be the death of you, and one can sustain horrific injuries, even if one survives.

Looking at the video in post # 40035, the man, realising that he couldn't outrun the kangaroo, initially threw a couple of punches, but finally wrestled it down on the ground. If I had to..to save my life or prevent injury I'd throttle it or blind it.

Having said that...I have hand fed tame kangaroos.
