No windows
All outside doors are solid metal set into metal frames. These do have panic bars for fire excape.
Entrance is set up as a mantrap - solid metal doors outside, solid wood doors on interior. Video camera all around
Have to be buzzed in except at opening / closing times.
Exterior walls are cast ferroreinforced cement and have a (slick) coating to allow easy removal of paint.

Was built in the late 80s.

Was built this way, not for security, but to reduce vandalism. The added security was jaust a side benifit.

 

Too often "progress" isn't.

 

Growing up in the 80s many schools still had rifle teams and shooting as a school sport. I am from the country and on many occasions to a rifle to school with me as I would be going to a mate’s place hunting after school, hell teachers use to borrow guns from me !! There is certainly a big difference is the psychology of young people today compelling their behaviour.

 

guess it depends a great deal on who is causing or creating the so called progress?

and what they mean when they say progress???
