The constitution is not like an insect trapped in amber...it is not so inviolate that it can't be amended, else women would still be denied suffrage and chattel slavery would have taken much longer to delegitimise in the USA than had been the case; and further more, that Constitutional amendments themselves aren't so inviolate that they can't be amended or indeed repealed....and that is a Constitutional fact that most every adult man and woman in America can drink to without having to do so furtively in a 'speak easy'.



Governments will ignore the bits of the Constitution they don't like by stacking the the Federal courts with Justices they think will interpret the Constitution in ways that the government would prefer: Both of the major factions play that game.

 

The meme is dishonestly false...abortions will still occur, just that they will be illegal and will carry a significant risk to the health and well being of the woman who procures one in the jurisdiction within which it is unlawful. The wealthy and well connected will undoubtedly be able to get a safe pregnancy termination where such laws do not apply.

I would support legislation that all males have a vasectomy until they are mature enough to assume the responsibilities of parenthood and are ready to reproduce with a consenting partner...it would certainly reduce the incidence of unwanted pregnancy and abortion.
