I was reminiscing. I remember Falstaff and Hamm's were both about $2 a six pack. Rhinegold was my last cheap bottled beer. I think they went out of business in 1998. I bought up all I could at the PX...every PX on three bases. It was like $3.80 for a 12 pack. I found some in a closet a couple years ago. Might've been bad. Really couldn't tell. I had been getting Genessee 30 packs of cans for $11, but they've raised the prices so far at the package store that I just pick up whatever is cheapest at Food Lion now.
