Yeah, he's wanting to release 32 million barrels that weren't already planned plus the 18 that were planned.
It's basically less than three days consumption. Nothing but political show.

Asking other nations to release from their reserves as well. Just to make gas a few cents cheaper.

It's the blocking of oil exports that is really going to fuck him. If he does get this, the oil market is globally priced, less supply due to US export ban ... the higher the price.

Hell, if OPEC+ doesn't play, they could cause oil to go stratospheric.

Seems the dems want it both ways, Carbon Free future AND cheap oil.

They are mutually exclusive given todays technology and our reluctance to go nuclear power.

We will have higher gas prices as a Christmas gift if this goes sideways.

All that OPEC and Russia need to do is to announce that they are reducing out-put by 1 or 2% to counter any release from the oil reserves, and oil prices will remain the same or go up! They don't even have to actually reduce oil production....just claiming to do it is enough. Besides, a large release of oil from the reserves will disrupt domestic oil production, as the oil from the reserve will via for limited capacity in the pipe-lines and refineries of America. Much of the oil from the reserves might have to be exported!

Disagree --under Trump inflation was minimal as soon as Bidumb took office with his executive orders undid everything Trump had done. Bidumb then started throwing money at everything as well as cutting domestic oil production, paying people not to work. Trump would have worked to keep inflation down. Bidumb has done absolutely nothing blaming the pandemic BS

 

Yes I agree that we would have had some inflation if Trump won because of the 2020 free money BUT it would be nowhere as huge an issue as this shit show is with sir spend-a-lot Brandon in the WH.

 

Trump took no salary and reported to sleep 4 hours a night --the rest of the time working---Bidumb takes a salary and maybe works 4 hours a day while the country burns down.
