Hiya my furry friends. Long time no talk. Talk about your backlog. I have a lot of catching up to do. Have to get the news about the latest political upheavels, banana plantings, and general goofiness. Look forward to it. Talk later. Tailor
Welcome back TMH. Have you finished up your training? Looking forward to an update on your adventures.
The last few days yep that was days with an S. I have been working on getting my tractor unstuck. Now I have got vehicals stuck in the mud before but never like this. The back axle was laying on the ground and it wasn't going anywhere. I was backing up to a tree top that was on the ground and was going to pull it out of the creek bottom. Then the ground that looked ok just opened like the red sea and swallowed the rear end of the tractor. After a hole lot of and a little more I procceded to dig and shove rocks under tires. This helped about as much as the did but I added a little more for good measure. After many hours of fighting this and woundering the possiblites of getting my truck stuck if I tried to get it down in there to attempt to pull it out. I came up with the bright idea of that I would tilt the forks on the frontend loader all the way forward and hook a chain to it. Then run about 60' of chain to the closest tree that looked like it would hold up. I put a couple of chain binders on the chain to tighten it up, then pulled back the forks this moved me a couple of inches. So several more times of tightening the chain by a few more links and tilting the forks back to pull on the tractor I was finnaly setting on firm ground. OGM

Has to be some sort of record, even the flame wars cant compete with those numbers, shows that the happy side is larger.
I really think that it would take something powerful to kill this thread. Something like a Tactical Wheelbarrow.
I hate beurocracy and haveing to ask big brothers permission! On the way back from Tinas relatives in Ill, we stoped in St Louis at the regional coast guard office so could check on my lisencing. First had to park about 5 blocks away and walk to the federal building (after disarming at the truck in downtown St Louis) then when I get to the metal detectors at the Fed building had to turn around and go back to the truck because I had a pocketknife small enouph it is legaly exempted from the definition of a 'knife' under state law and couldnt go in with it or even check it at the security station. Finaly got past security and found out that the drug test I had driven half way across the state and paid $50 for (then got screwed out of another $50) was worthless because even though it was the right kind and on the right form the Dr who signed it wasnt certified as a medical review oficer (even though he claimed to be) so I then got to go to one in St Louis recomended by the folks in the USCG office (couldnt tell me of any before I got the first one) and pay another $50 to take another whiz quiz. All of this plus a bunch of other paper work, documentation, finger prints, physial (that I also had to pay for), and a bunch more money to them plus a couple months for them to do criminal checks and such to get permission to basicly be able to be a cook, janitor or unskilled laborer on a boat, if you go any higher it gets worse. Then to top it off it seems that soon will get to add another ID with biometric info coded into the ID after you pay them more money and they take their time to do a 'risk accessment' on you. The joys of trying to deal with big brother...but at least HOPE its finaly taken care of other than forwarding the results of the whiz quiz to them and waiting.
Well, both our dogs ran off last Tuesday and the male came back Thursdaybut havent found the female yet. Tina went to town asking some of the folks today and no one had seen her but got offered a St Bernard pup. We went a picked out a little girl then ran to town to get her a colar and such and while there got a call that a friend had seen our female running around by his place the last day or 2. We made it over to look for her around dark and didnt find her but looks likely we may now. So looks like now we will have 3 big dogs in the house. lol
