    I like this part.

"I’ve got guys with artificial legs that show up and run drills. Are they as fast as everyone else? Some are, some aren’t. But they make the freaking effort. Lose the weight, give up the bad habits, and if you need a buddy to put a boot in your ass then find one, likewise with a reason."

I have nothing left to lose and literally no fear. Luckily I still have enough fun doing it that it will be exciting when the turd blossoms. The excitement keeps me going.

AlaskaChick had an Bionic Knee installed 30 years ago and after, wondered why she waited so long… Then about five years later, the OEM Recalled the insert because the plastic stuff between the two pieces was breaking down and causing people to get sick… They paid for a new replacement and all expenses of the surgery… Now it only ackes when the barometer drops, before a major Cold Front is coming…

I talked with a lady about a year ago and she said she hates it ,, I asked if it hurt her now , or what the problem was . They put a steel or titanium plate in for a kneecap ,, and she said when she goes out to sit on the beach she has to cover her knee to keep it from heating up the metal plate . I was like WTF ,,, if I could walk without pain ,, covering up my kneecap in the sun wouldn't even be an issue for me . Some people just can't be satisfied.

Is everyone interested in preparedness a bunch of old broken geezers or did we just pick the oldest tree to climb? Seems with few exceptions even the younguns here are early middle age. I suspect that generations after mine have no direct connection to actual hard times like the Great Depression or a World War effort as I am the child of people who lived them. IMO only a very small percentage of US adults under 45-50 have a clue about the potential and likely hardships and danger or the physical and mental toughness needed to survive.

If that's the case then we need to be prepared to quickly assume a leadership/mentor role in the event that it hits the fan as seems more and more imminent.

All I got going on the physical end is I'm scary silent and able to fade into the background as a natural talent. Like the rest of us seasoned folks I have a high tolerance to pain as well. Shootin and scooten would quickly become panting, gasping, moaning and groaning. Exercising daily, but I'll never move like I did in my 20's. Fundamentally, while I will survive as long as a I can, my bigger game is the survival of others.

I believe there was once a battle for a bridge in Germany
The old men of the village were assigned to defend the bridge until German troops arrived.
This group of old men rained down such accurate rifle fire that the American advance was halted.
Giving the German army time to rush in reinforcements.
The old men went home, The American's were then able to take the bridge.
