The Illinois Supreme Court ruled on Oct. 21 that two taxes on guns and ammunition in Cook County violate the state’s constitution because they affect law-abiding citizens’ Second Amendment right to acquire firearms for Somebody finally got it right.
This is a start. My state just increased the fee for CCL's to $115... For most living here that creates a hardship. My hope is that someone with deep pockets challenges it.
Here in SC my CCL costs 50 bucks and is good for 5 years not bad, we now have an open carry if you have a CCL
Cook County was just trying to hit up the Chicago city gun/ammo buyers to the max >> there's almost nothing left in the City for purchasing - everyone goes out to the subs to the mega-stores .....
Paid $57 for a box of .308 hunting ammo a few weeks back, not that I needed it. Bought several a few years ago. Funny how those gangbangers always seem to get their 9mm when we can't find any.
As someone joked many years ago," just drive through certain disadvantaged neighborhoods and redistribute the wealth...in the form of 9mm ammo.".
