Wish we had a Constitutional Sheriff in my county.... Our guy seems to be the governor's yes man.

madmax Far right. Bipolar. Veteran. Don't push me.

I support my Sheriff and Governor 100 %. I'm in FL. They have some great attitudes concerning law abiding citizens, 2nd amendment rights, criminal behaviour, and the rona mask bullshit.

In Alaska we do not have “Sheriffs” Constitutional or otherwise… What we have is only ONE ELECTED Law Enforcement Officer, and that is our Governor… All other Law Enforcement Personnel serve at our Governor’s pleasure, including the Attorney General, and all other State .Gov Attorneys, as well as ALL State Troopers and Commissioner for Public Safety… The Commissioner and AG are confirmed by a vote the State Senate… All Municipal Law Enforcement must be certified by State Statute Requirements and that certification can be revoked by the Governor at any time, individually or enbanc… You have a beef with Law Enforcement, you just pick up the phone and call the Governor… The Buck Stops at his Desk, and no where else.. and in Alaska’s History there have been occasions where the Governor has acted, to remove Personnel that have violated the Laws of the State, and kicked some FEDs violating our Civil Rights, out of the State… Our State Troopers are similar to Texas Rangers in that they operate under the provision “One Riot, One Trooper” when dealing with things out in the bush… My State Trooper is based in the town of Hoonah, Ak, and is attached to Detachment A in Juneau, Ak… He is a Fish & Wildlife Trooper who's main duties are Fish & Game Enforcement, but he is still a fully qualified and commissioned State Trooper, and thus carries the full Law Enforcement responsibilities... He is also a good friend, and he knows that should he need ANYTHING, that I can provide, I will back him up 100%, and I have done so a few times in the past… On one occasion, I provided essential Comms from a Crime Scene, farther out in the bush than I was, back to his Command, during a Murder Investigation that I reported, to him, after receiving a radio call from a witness.. On another occasion I provided Essential Comms when a State Trooper Aircraft crashed at a high elevation on Mt. Fairweather… I knew the pilot, and I Phone-patched him to the Commissioner of Public Safety to report the crash, and then provided Comms for the USCG during the Rescue, and recovery of the people and Evidence being Transportted to the CrimeLab in Anchorage, which was the destination of the flight..
Yes, it pays to know your local Lawman, and be on a first name and friendly basis with these good folks…

We were in the liquor business for 35 years. and bootlegged and made shine for many generations going back to Scotland and Ireland. My Father and Grandfather ALWAYS made donations to the F.O.P., and contributions to the campaigns of the sheriff, D.A., city commissioners, mayor and local judges. The amounts weren't large, and it didn't hurt to have your name on a list somewhere. The only trouble that we ever had was with the Alabama ABC agents...they could be real SOBs.

Clackamas County is rock solid as well. Multnomah's, well, needs to spend quality time as the subject at a sewage treatment facility.

Ohhhhh, you got stuck with Eugene like Multnomah did with Portland. Eugene was the first place I saw Anarchist graffiti, and that was back in the 70's.
