Never heard of them before the Afghanistan fiasco. I got curious about what the differences are between them and regular ISIS/ISIL, so I did some research The Sun has a pretty good article and is worth the read. My takeaways: ISIS-K started as an ISIS splinter cell working in Afghanistan. ISIS-K is mostly disgruntled ex-Taliban who feel that the Taliban isn't severe enough in implementing Sharia Law. Many members defected from the Taliban due to the heavy losses by the Taliban while ISIS was having victories in Syria. The Taliban and ISIS-K are bitter enemies. IMO they would still be likely to join forces against non Islamic fundamentalists (like us) if they felt it was in their interest, then later go back to killing each other, ISIS-K is so radical that ISIS/ISIL denies any affiliation. Seriously, too Islamobonkers for the people dedicated to establishing the Caliphate. The Taliban is seeking international recognition and wants full control over Afghanistan. Between the two at least they can be semi trusted. IMO ISIS-K represents enough if a threat to the Taliban that they would be willing to work with the US to contain or eliminate them. IMO Biden's botched leadership and public weakness destroyed any confidence they have in our ability/will for this. IMO they respected Trump and felt that he would hold up his end and also feared the consequences for betrayal. ISIS-K just wants to kill every one that isn't them. Who are Isis-K and how are they different to Isis?
As always, the middle east cannot ever know peace! Let them kill each other off with gusto, and cheer for which ever team looks the strongest, then go in and soak the sand in their blood! They are all the same when you look, there are just varying degrees of zealots within them, all are part of the same false faith! They can have their caliphate and shove it up their asses!
It won't change unless THEY decide to change. No amount of outside influence will work and never will. That's not just them, but everyone everywhere. The US has to learn the lesson once and for all about this. We learned and even remembered for a decade or two after Vietnam. Then they tested the waters to see how many citizens remembered in Grenada. Positive feedback so the war machine is back in full operation. Woohoo! Back making money again! All it costs are the lives of soldiers and innocents, so who cares? Changing culture and values only inspires opposition, which then perpetuates the profit cycle, so it's all good! This is the exact reason Trump was pulling us out of Iraq, Syria, and Afghanistan. He correctly saw it for the evil it was and how much it harmed the US, at least outside of the industries and politicians that were getting wealthy. Note that the result of leaving Iraq and Syria on our own terms resulted in cooperation from Arab states that resulted in relative peace to the point that a half dozen of them normalized relations with Israel. I think he also saw that US companies could have profited better doing business in a stabilized Middle East than by military sales at the cost of lives. Such a waste that he didn't get a second term. It's not a coincidence that the moment Biden took charge that Iran was emboldened to start firing at ships. They smell weakness and a return to the profiteering and meddling by a paper tiger.
I'm with Ura-ki ,, contain them to their own little dirtpile ,, let them have at it ,,, finish off the winners. Theyll never change ,, and we'll never be rid of their threat towards us otherwise .
Leaving all the weapons and equipment all makes sense now. Those dip shits left it there so the Taliban could wipe out ISIS and ISIS-K, great plan you morons. What could possibly go wrong???
Until we accept the very real fact that U.S. interventionism is the root cause of every terrorist organization, whether it be through direct funding, proliferation and training, or by means of occupation, we will always see some extremist group committing the same heinous acts. It doesn't matter one bit what name they carry, at the end of the day it's just one more brick in the wall placed by secret government.
