A happy start to the day. DIL delivered - via C section - a healthy 7lb 9 oz /20 in tall baby boy. very early this AM -- as is the way of babies it seems... Cool for us, thought I'd share with my buds here... Not allowed to visit, the hospital is still in lockdown - My son and his sister all that's allowed for now.
Congrats on the new arrival, make sure to spoil the snot out of the little feller every chance you get! We are expecting my first grand child any second now here, got a nervous pappa standing by for a flight home!
Just as our first grandchild was life changer, this one is my youngest son's first. Named Atrayus, of Greek origin, the baby's name translates as "Gift of god" -- as are all children.
Children, our minister 40 years ago said it all. Those who have children are blessed by the Lord, those who don't have been spared by the Lord. Found out grand children are a great gift to us elderly, can spoil them, enjoy them, be blessed by being with them, and then you can go back home and get a good nights sleep. In my life and raising children, two of life's biggest blessings are when they start sleeping all night and you can also do the same, and when they are toilet trained. Somehow I am one of those that would rather butcher a hog than change a diaper. Being over 80 and looking back, being there when they change from laying there as a pretty baby to that child that never quits moving nor asking questions has to be one of God's greatest gifts. Didn't say it didn't drive me crazy at times, but we are blessed when we can watch a little person come into being and it never seems to end. Sunrises and healthy 2 year olds, two of God's greatest gifts to a new day and a promise of many tomorrows.
Congrats to all involved. My 1st and most likely, only granddaughter is a little over 2 1/2 yrs old now. Shes at the age now where shes interested in everything,, and the giggles are heart warming. But keeping up with her is a chore . Again, congrats , and best wishes from here on out.
Congrats, now you have a target for spoiling and getting even with your kiddos. Good fun's on the way.
Congrats to the family and DKR Now is the time to buy the lad a 10/22 and some ammo. Look into it now for a Jeep for when he turns 16 You can tool around in it for the next 15 years, You know it needs to be ran once a month. Things like that, I'm sure other members will be glad to help out with a Grandson needs this list !!!
God bless the new family member Papa.... super news!!!! We have our Grandson every other weekend... guess we are on a parenting plan now days. LOL Since the death of our SIL, we have had to step in and assist our daughter.... more than we had normally. My Grandson tells me to fire up his tractor and take him for a ride in the hood. Family is there to make you smile, keep you on your toes.... and sometimes will need your intervention. But they are family.... they are #1. Congratulations!!!
Bet your grandson gets a real kick out of that, @Yard Dart. I have no children and by default no grandchildren. To those who do, and I'm not much for religion but I'll say it anyway, God bless you.
And bless you as well sir!! As a side note, I follow the teachings of Jesus Christ, I do not belong to any particular religion. I am not for much of the religion doctrine out there as well.... some like to twist words into their own view of the world. But love thy brother sticks strong and true... until they are not worthy. I give a rip about your upbringing, race, creed or color... I was raised upper lower class and bleed army green.... we are all the same color, till you prove otherwise.
Humor and jokes had the only real wisdom I have seen today. "If you raise your children, you can spoil your grandkids; but if you spoil your children, you will have to raise your grandkids." I think he found the secret of life, everything makes sense now. Thank you hot diggity for that tidbit of wisdom that should be not be ignored by every new parent.
