No bugs on the menu at this camp so long as I can raise it, catch it and kill it :)

The long term consequence of this is bad for blue/lib led localities... Eventually red localities will decentralize and localize things like food production, energy, water... and the blue/lib led localities will have to follow suit or suffer the wrath of the voter who can't buy meat, or has constant power problems, etc.....

Sweetie and I went out yesterday and got a bit of meat and several chickens. Took them home and topped off our freezer. Give it a week or 2 and we'll see what happens and whether or not we done good. Chickens were $.77/lb, meat was $7.49/lb. We plan to pick up a few lbs of ground chuck later today.

Trade is a good place to start.

The Biden administration is telling US corporations they are responsible for securing their networks.

I cut the herd back to just those four 1 boar 1 sow and two finishers. All of the packing plants I take folks hogs to are booked out 12-18 months and not scheduling anything for the butcher hog customers. Cough and I got in trouble for letting customers use my set up to process their own after buying the hog :( So for the time being I am only raising enough livestock for our own use. 2 steers, 2 breeders and 2 finishing hogs. Even ran out of my Inspected HACCP processed stuff and shut the food trailers down for the rest of 2021. Earliest I can get anything HACCP processed is Next February :( Get 2-3 calls from folks asking if they can bring their hog or steer here and process it in my personal processing set up, because they can't get the hog or steer they raised scheduled at the packing plants. Have to tell them no :( I just ain't gonna pay another fine like the one ag dropped on me, because someone couldn't keep their damn mouth shut and had to run around advertising how they got their hog processed. Even though I was not doing the processing....... they were. I was just present instructing them on how to break the carcass down and then make the cuts and then made sure they cleaned up the mess back to nice grease/blood free and shiny. Looking at wholesale prices for beef, pork and poultry I decided against going that route to supply the food trailers. Would have to raise my prices to almost double to compensate, then throw in the price of diesel for draggin the wagons around. Not a whole of us that operate like I do but the dozen or so I know are all in the same boat I am in Arkansas, Missouri and Southern IL. I hear the rest of the Country is not in any better shape with getting animals processed :( On the bright side the small to mid sized packing plants are doing a much needed booming business. Just wish they remembered us guys that were bringing in 20-30 hogs at time and 5-8 steers when they were not doing so well.
