I am well aware of the attrocities perpetrated by totalitarian regimes which are 'red' or some pinkish shade...I'm probably more aware of the mechanics of the Gulag archipeligo than most here...my criticism is of those here who obsess almost exclusively on the communists and selected socialist regimes...it's low hanging fruit for American conservatives....who rarely if ever examine other contributors to the historical projects of genocide. Looking closer to home to the genocide visited upon first nations peoples seem to be utterly ignored...

As to the mountain of sand analogy...I have never condoned the genocide commited by the Russians, Germans, Turks, Rawandans, Belgians, British, Americans or Australians, come to it, regardless of the political ideologies that underpin those acts of that genocide...I just point out that much of the SM tribe seem to be very selective about their use of their genocide awareness antennae.
