My feelings exactly.

 

I can almost hear it overheating.

 

I still own my wall crank phone we used on a party line.
Recorded music from a 78 RPM record player to a wire recorder.
Our entertainment was a crystal set
No one took pictures of food, we ate it. Home made bread didn't last an hour out of the oven.
It was only 3 miles to school I walked it starting in the 4th grade.
At that age I also rode a horse without a saddle and played will all kinds of critters dad brought home from work, even a chuckwalla. (lizard)
On Saturdays I worked with dad pouring concrete and moving 8x8x16 cement blocks. Sometimes on the way to work we'd spot something people were throwing out on trash day and I'd hop off the back of the truck and fetch what ever he wanted.
Dad had a thing for antiques, all kinds of antiques and I would learn what they were and how to fix them.
My own kids would go through an antique store and marvel at the stuff other people called antiques, we used on a daily basis.
My daughter learned to cook and bake on my wood stove (with oven). Now she is a professional baker.
