I ran to Salem for a delivery. (All legal) We detoured near Portland due to a blocking accident on I-5 and did the tour. Great show! Humans are the worst, not you folks at SM though, of course. Go Trailblazers!

 

Portland - If it ain't boarded up, or on fire it's a tent city. If it isn't in Clackamas County where the Sheriff will bust your ass and DA will prosecute I just dive through and only when I have to.

Downtown Kabul was a nice neighborhood compared to how some of our cities are now.

 

My passenger(the boy) navigated me through like a champ. It’s quite shocking to observe in person. This will only get much much worse as we all know but any guesses how it ends? Go Trailblazers! (Nobody watches that league anymore though, lol. )
Btw my first words were “Hell nah” but it truly was the best way around the mess and......I’m a tad twisted as some might know. Backup in the backpack of course and the boy could always try out his latest martial art while I watch. “In the nuts son, in the nuts!” Lol.

 

Directions through downtown Portland be like "Turn left at the AntiFa riot and the white guys looting on behalf of BLM, continue past the burning ICE building for three blocks then turn right at the next tent city. If you see a ten foot pile of garbage you went too far. If you get lost, roll down your windows and shout "Black Lives Matter!". This will keep you alive until you get outside of urban Multnomah County. Whatever you do make sure you do that before it gets dark.

No wonder plywood prices are thru the roof. Portland is sucking up the supply, And what's with the armored traffic lights?

 

I haven't been spending much time in or even around Potland, other then taking Dad up to the V.A. or OHSU, or to get some specialist work done, we avoid it like the plague.
Few weeks ago, we had to venture up to Potland, couple of stops, and decided to take the long way down through Down Town just to see it! Two things that struck me, one of them I had no idea was happening, was the utter trash and smells! I was in Sarajevo when it imploded and it looked a little better then Potland, as least the bodies had been picked up and hauled off to be burned! The other thing was all the new Ultra Rich Condos being built, not just down town, but all around the river front area! Talk about a very obvious difference! Just for jollies I went on line to look up pricing for some of these condos and was shocked, half a million and up just to start, and if you wanted nice, a million plus! Who the fuck has that kind of money in Potland???? It's not like there is a lot on industry or big tech in and around the city, not enough to support that kind of income, and yet, thousands and thousands of new high end condos have sprung up all over the place! The city has it's self a major problem with wealth, as in most residents born and raised there have none of it, and no future there and they simply cannot afford to live there! What a Wirld!

 

What really strikes me, there IS no income producing jobs or industry in Potland to support the cost of living within the city, let alone all those ultra rich condos! Where are all the people who can afford that coming from ( Retorical,) it's Californication writ large! The City is bringing in all these richy richs to live there and driving the normal folks out! And, it keeps growing like that. Soon, they will have it so you cannot drive within the greater Down Town Area, it's ether bicycles or 'letric scooters or some type of transit system, and they already have special rules that you gotta know, which are actually illegal, but nobody has the means to force the city to follow the laws! Still, it's quite shocking to see it building like this,, and what was once a funky and fun little city has turned into some ultra rich and very unwelcoming city full of false ideals and lifestyles that only the super wealthy can afford!

Obviously, this is by design, and it partly explains how the city clowncil can get away with all the things they do!
Here is something else, they DONT WANT BLACKS or other Minorities in that city, that much is VERY CLEAR! with how they are building things! Unless your filthy rich, you don't belong there! Want proof, the area just north of Potland all the way to the Columbia RIver used to be the "Black Area" and they have all been driven into a much much smaller pocket, while the "Hoods" near Columbia Blvd. south to around Rosa Parks ( Portland Blvd) have been bulldozed to the ground and new medium range apartments and housing has been build! The Old Kieser Shipyards build housing projects are now long gone, and that whole area has changed, ( As it needed to) but what replaced it is NOT what the city needed! I see the ST. Johns area is now the super poor area, folks have been driven there, and the area south of Potland, along McAdam has exploded with more wealth! At least Felony Flats ( South East) where I grew up is still very much the same as it was, but the wealth is slowly creeping in on it's borders, ever shrinking it!

We signed a treaty with you fine folks up north for the kindly use of the waters flowing south across the border! The wet coast supplies power clear to Mexico, and as far east as the Dakotas!

 

We got in and got out but I observed something that was peculiar. Right in the middle of the mess was a young, nice looking couple walking a small dog like it was a walk in the park. Ignorance or confidence, who knows? I’d never put my dog at risk like that.
