The attack on an older Asian lady recently left me disgusted in many ways. Obviously the attack but, the lack of intervention was despicable. I’m no super hero but I know myself. Never in a million years could I sit by idly like some did. What on Earth is going on? Boo. Quick story. On shift I’m at a major intersection when I see two guys attacking an elderly gentleman’s vehicle. We have the red light but I directed the driver to “drive over there!” Screw the red lights or traffic. He froze. Bad Dude grabbed the partially rolled down window and pulled, it broke and he fell on his a$$! Classic idiot. They got in their vehicles and all split. My dummy driver didn’t follow either like I would have. To me those reactions are just instinctual albeit not always intelligent depending. (Not tooting my horn just puzzled what’s in some people’s mind)
I'm all for rendering aid to those who deserve it. IMO, the punk above does not and I would happily have let him bleed out on the sidewalk. Private property means something to me, even those that are not owned by me. If I expect my wishes to be obeyed I must be willing to comply with the other property owner's wishes as well. This BS with the Asians should be dealt with by use of lethal force applied without restraint and by the victim's family. It would be so around here.
I think I'd have forgotten all the first (and advanced) aid training I've ever had for that assclown. Granted, triage with only one "victim" is a bit over the top, but one might look around to see if there were any others to "think" about before taking any actions at all. We can't advocate for doing nothing for innocents and others when doing is possible. My personal thinking says there can be exceptions for the non-innocent.
Over the years , some people, like me , kind of get a hardened heart, and care less for and about humanity. That guy was doing nothing but breaking the law by trying to deface someone elses property. He would care not about your property either. I say its about time for some of these twits to start living in reality . Do stupid stuff,,win stupid prizes .
I think a lot of folks these days hesitate for fear of - a lawsuit, harassment, or Heave only knows what-all. It may sound hard-hearted, but family first... The rest of ya are on your own... You have no idea what (horrible and contagious) disease might be present in the falling loon.... Would I call 911? Sure, they have all the PPE and current training to deal with this kind of trauma. As a side note, waiting for Chase to be labeled as a 'whitesupr...evil whatever.' crap for not providing handholds/ladder.... Anti-capitalists....why does that sound so familiar??
I understand being disgusted with his act but I’d still render aid, not judging anyone that would decline.
I'd say Darwin Award nominee but that fall didn't look to be fatal. He's going to feel it though, maybe for a lot of years especially if he did damage to his spine or lower back. I suppose he and his friends will find a way to blame Trump.
I have no "official" 1st aid training. I'll wait for the calvary to arrive like the anti-gunners want us to do facing a threat. Wait for the cops! That's in a very narrow scenario.

In NYC I’d call the cops. I am not a large person. In my home state I have something to equalize the odds so yes I’d intervene.
I reread this thread and thought about my rather flippant response. So. I have thought about the scenario of stopping a crime with a gun. Or being there during an active shooting. I'm going to defend and render aid to the innocent as best i can determine. The bad guy is on his own. That last part hasn't changed from my original post.
I would intervene as soon as he landed the first blow... Walking Stick/ Cane to his gut, ASAP, while calling 911... I absolutely do not tolerate beating on women, Period...
